Welcome back to the Bataan Death Marches of trip recaps. I promised myself I was going to finish. So once again into the breach.

Our group hopped into the Ford Odyssey and went a cross the boarder to partake a three day weekend in Dublin.

After some traffic issues we made it to Dublin. Just in time for a nice hail storm.

I know, not very interesting. When you come from the land of no snow, it is.

We stayed at the stately Oliver St. John Gogartys, in Temple Bar.

A nice little place to visit, but not sleep. Then we should have known that trying to get some sleep in a hostel in Temple Bar would go as well as our president trying to spell chrysanthemum. But it worked out, well except for the drunk snoring Italian gentleman who roomed with us. The man sounded like he was clear cutting old growth forest, in his drunken slumber. Let's just say I almost got up and yelled at the revilers across the way for being too quite. I needed them to drown out the snoring.

The Temple Bar Area was nice, very tourist, but then we came as tourist. It was also all we could secure. If we go back to Dublin, we will try to upgrade.

After unpacking and lunch we hiked over to Trinity College.

We went over to take a gander at the Book of Kells, and view this.

Throw in a Becket exhibit and I will say I was very well pleased with the tour.

Our group then scattered to the four winds. The Better Half and I then took in the sites. Took a little bus tour, walked around Temple Bar, crossed the Liffey checked out the GPO, the "Stiletto in the Ghetto" and Graffton Street. Sadly no Guinness Tour this time.

Also had a bitch of time trying to find the correct change crossing the Ha'penny bridge. Man I could for the life of me figure out how many Euros it was.

Note, one of the best parts of this trip came right after this picture, when I saw some guy sporting the Chicago White Sox World Championship Hat. I tried to flag the guy down but I failed. Sigh!

Here some more of the visual hijinks.

Mmmmmm, Guiness. Enjoying a pint on our music pub crawl.

This was outside of the hostel, apparently this is what our snoring Italian drank the night before.

Before we left town the Better Half and I took in an exhibit on Medieval Dublin, where we were rocketed back in time and where I continue to be a freaking clown

Hello nice doggie.

Just crushing in my ye' olde Kangoo.

Look it is either the Medieval version of Boba Fett or a Special Need villain from the old Batman TV Series.

As you can see, I had a tiff with one of the locals, which lead to

Yep, I was sold to a nice Viking family, I am now living in Greenland, which is not green.

All in all it was a good weekend and we made it back in one piece.

Good news is that I got this done, bad news is I still have still have London to do. I know you all sick of this. I promise this reign of terror will end soon. I may take a break from recapping.

Hello Blogmuffin readers, I have unpacked and dusted off the old slide carousel.

Here is a quick wrap of my travels, or a lot of pictures of me being an ass. Please enjoy.

It all started between the Tigris and the Euphrates. Whoa sorry about that, I do not have to go back that far.

After suffering through a crappy flight we arrived in Northern Ireland and made it to where were were going to bunk for the next two weeks.

Not too bad. If you think that nice, the people who hosted us were amazing. They were nice enough to have us back. They made us feel more than being at "home", they made us feel like a member of their family. They were so nice, I did not steal any towels or silverware.

We were charged with the task of doing finishing work on two homes.

Here is a shot of the two we worked on in 2002. They are still standing. That shows they have great site supervision, they could overcome me wielding a hammer.

So we worked on a lot of the little things to get this house ready. In fact we were able to hand the keys over to the families so they could come in and start doing some painting. Now here are some actions photos for you:

No, its not me trying to duck working, sadly this was me working on cleaning sewer lines, with tape all over me. The picture we sadly do not have is my hand wrapped in a plastic bag cleaning out bricks, glass, and old Buick Skylark, along with the nastiness that lurks in the pipes, all the while it is hailing.

This is a bad combo folks. I am amazed that this did not end in tears. But surprisingly enough I kicked some ass. You should have seen me miter cut. Oh I mitered cut the bejesus out of some shit. Oh look I have a picture.

Look you can slice cheese with that edge. God I am retarded, but I am still so damn proud of this stupid corner. I was so proud that I went all Jim Hacksaw Dugin afterward. The only thing missing was the American flag. (I promise to find that one and post it)

After they explained it was not a pogo stick, they let open some whoop ass on some beligerent pavement.

Here I am hold up a shovel very nicely.

This is before spending an afternoon shoveling hardening pavement which is such a pleasing way to spend a day. But it was all worth it, especially when we saw one of the future home owners come by with her daughter and show her where her room will be.

Even though we had a small group we got a lot done and with no injuries. I will say that it was an achievement. There were moments that I doubted that this trip was going to even take place. In many ways it all worked out perfectly.

So what did we do while not building? Well we lets see.

We took some time in Belfast as I mentioned before. Here are a couple of highlights

Drinks here

Tour through the trouble spots in a black cab.

First to the Protestant areas.

Then we crossed into the Catholic areas, but first we had to go by the "peace walls".

Large East Berlinesque type walls build to keep the peace, by trying to separate the two communities. Some areas have gates that close at night to keep people from coming in and cause problems. These walls do not insure goodwill. But even with these measures. You still have kids gathering throwing insults, rocks and other items. In a nutshell this is why I keep coming back, so that one day these walls come down, by choice not force. Okay enough of my sappy droning.

Here are some shots from the Catholic areas:

First is the Sein Fein office and the second is Bombay street where this community which was fire-bombed in 69. As you can see that the people living there still are contending with items coming over that wall. They have installed large slanted screen that hopefully allows any harmful items to roll away from the house.

We also stopped at the Clonad Martyrs memorial Garden for IRA members killed and non-combatants who lived in the area.

Also got to see what a rubber bullet looks like, they are not cute and cuddly especially when they are fired above the waist. This was a problem back in the 70's and 80's.

But enough of the bad, let us get back to the nice of Northern Ireland.

Wait I saw this and caught a laugh.

But now back to our program. Even though I was damn ass cold (but as a southern Californian anything under 50 makes me panic), we had great weather. We also took some time to go down to Newcastle and the Mourne's.

It was a great shot till I got my fat head in the shot.

Oh crap I am looking at the clock and I have to go. Well this trip recap is off to a great start. Now if I can finish it before I leave for Chicago to watch the World Champs beat on the Cubs.

Sorry for all the spelling and grammar, doing this on the run.

Well I have made it back to the not so sunny shores of Costa Mesa. Who is messing with the weather?

The epic three week tour is over, and it was great. Now I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I have been so out of it since getting home Sunday. In fact last night I dreamt that I had just done a 2 week trip to the Bay Area and then we were off to Argentina for a two week Habtat build. So when I woke up this morning, I was exhausted.

I am now working on getting back into the work force and getting this blog out of the La Brea Tar Pit of laziness. Knowing me it will fail on both counts.

Well kids sorry I have been busy, just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and well. I know, I know, I can hear some of the groans out there. Saddly this blog still will limp along. We have finished up our building. We had a great time and I even used power tools without injuring myself or others. I know amazing. When I return there will be a slide show where you can see my shame.

Right now it is off to London, I hear it is a sleeply little village that Romans use to hang.

To show that I am fitting in. I am still miffed that Man U could not beat Sunderland Friday night. Then Sunderland gets ripped by Newcastle. What is up with that? I hate Chelsea, I really do. But I do know that the Sox are back in first. Who woke up Jim Thome? He is killing the ball, but sadly so everyone facing Sox pitching except for Contreas one hitter, but does that really count if comes against the Royals?

But I can wait to tell you all about Dublin, Belfast, operating a jack hammer, and my fight for the Danish throne.

Well time to head to the future George Best Airport.

Cheers.

Well I am back. The last two days have been wonderful, cold but wonderful. We have been seeing the sights for the last two days. Which was nice, but one of those days we were supposed to be on the sight but we got bumped. It's a long story, but it is probably because they want these house to get finished so if they can keep me away. We took in the lovely seaside town of Newcastle and then off to the Mountains or Mourne. Where we stopped and enjoyed a nice stroll around the picturesque Silent Valley. The only problem was our van was attacked by ferel mimes.

Today it was up to Belfast to tour the HFH office and run through the city. Did some site seeing. I got some great shots of me at the Belfast City Hall. They let me put on a ceremonial robe and release the badgers it was great.

So far I have not harmed myself or others on the road. Right now I am very thankful to Ford and their beautiful Ford Galaxy. Hey, it is automatic and it has heat, so for once I am happy to be driving a mini Van.

So far this is the longest I have been this cold. I would die if I lived anywhere with snow. But still it is so great to be back here.

Tomorrow we get back to it and I will try to not impale or shame myself. Then Saturday we are off the Dublin. I hope to have some photos to prove I am not sitting in my car hiding in Fontana.

Cheers.

The Sox are out of first place. It had to happen.

the Boski Blog o' Fun.

Greetings kids, sorry I have not written, but I have been a little busy.

Well I write to you from a wonderful manor house here in lovely County Down, in Northern Ireland.

Wow the band sounds great doesn't it? . . Oh that's right you all can't here the music or voices in my head. Well it is for better.

Before I start I would like to start off with

That was the only thing that sucks about this trip is missing this.

I really would have loved if the flew a second one at Wrigley, to remind those punks that they still get to wallow in the misery. So go and enjoy your beer and Ivy. The rest of the White Sox Villagers and myself will take this.

Hey has Jim Thome's homer landed yet? Sorry everyone I have to enjoy this as long as I can. I know as soon as they lose one I will go back to the "sky is falling mode".

So it is UCLA vs Florida, hmmmm. I say Florida

Well enough of that, today is the end of day number three and our first day on the site. Friday was a travel day which sucked. Even with the surprised upgraded seats on British Airways (the not quite coach, but not quite business class) I had a miserable flight. Other than watching "Breakfast on Pluto" it sucked. Had a screaming kid in our section, but he came a distant second. The cold I decided to pack and bring on the flight was a great idea. It made the 10 hours go by like it was 50. My head hurt and I was so tired and run down that I wanted to sleep, but sadly I could not. Oh I tired, but I could not get more than 15 minutes. I was too tired to watch another movie of listen to music. So I sat there in a stupor. It got to the point I sat and started to hit myself in the head. My hopes were to either, crack my head open so all the pretty stuff in my head would run out, or to knock myself silly. Sadly I was too tired to even get that done.

I was able to finally get some rest at Heathrow as we waited to connect to Belfast. I would have gotten some more, but I had to spend a half and hour cleaning my toiletry bag since the Nyquil (which I should have taken before getting on the plane) spilled all over it. But as I awoke my wife had to get a chuckle since half of my face had the imprint of the sweater I was napping on. The flight to Belfast was uneventful other than the plane being struck by lightning. So now I can cross that off the list.

The rest of Saturday we spent crashing and getting acclimated. Thankfully, I did not do any crashing of the car. Yes, my group has put me behind the wheel. Fools!

Sunday, went into Belfast, to pick up our last team member. Grabbed a pint at the Crown. Then took a black taxi tour of Belfast (the Political edition) Even though I had been on a tour like this one last time, it is still sobering and chilling to see it. Standing in parts of town that my grandfather and his family would have never even think about venturing to. The tour guide was great even though he painted a very bleak picture, with very little hope of things changing. To me I don't feel that way. If I did I would not be here doing this. Sure there is a lot that still has to be worked out and this crap is entrenched pretty deep, but this is not hopeless.

Monday we got out to the work site and I can say I had a shitty day, but not in a completely awful day. Well I started on framing doors, but the site supervisor, who is a great guy asked me to help with a problem with porta-john. Next thing I know I have plastic bag around my hand removing debris from the toilet line. Things like glass, parts of brick, huge wads of paper towels. big ass spiders. You know common things. It made be realize that the day a company I worked for made me go on the roof was not that bad. But in a weird way I had good time. The Site Super and me filling buckets, shoveling refuse and snaking lines, all while it was freezing (including a solid period of hail). But I was just glad to be there and helping and doing something that helping someone. After we finished and I was deloused. We returned to our "home" and spent an hour and half throwing around a rugby ball with the youngest son of the family who is housing us. That and having a great dinner and drinks made this a great great day. I made all the headaches and problems we had trying to get this trip off the ground worth it.

Well it is now 1:30 AM GMT. Must get some sleep.

but I am staying for excitement.

I will say this is my single worst performance in an NCAA pool. Only one of my picks made it to the finals (UCLA). Wow did I do a really crappy job, but damn it has been a fun tourny to watch.

How about UCLA? Sure Saturday's game was ugly, and I mean Eastern conference Finals ugly.

LSU, what did Larry Brown come back from trying to find Big Foot and get this team back to the Final Four?

Florida, Impressive. I will hand it to Yannick Noah, his kid can play. But I do hope during this week someone will ask the question. Was Yannick Noah a member of The Thompson Twins? Look at the pictures and decided.

George Mason in the Final Four, that has to be the greatest individual display of talent ever in NCAA hoops history. One guy, one single guy got into the finals! What is Mr. Mason the Bobby Boucher of hoops?

Sadly, I will miss the finals this year, which means it will be entertaining. My guess is that it will be LSU vs. Florida, and Florida will be your winner. So grab your savings and put it down on George Mason.

Again Thursday night looked to be another "Must Lose Thursday". I really should have not cared since my brackets were already condemned by the Army Corp of Engineers. It got worse with Duke losing. I was not shocked by the loss. I was shocked that neither Billy Packard or Dick Vitale positioned themselves on top of LSU's basket to prevent Duke from losing. Note to Duke, look Reddick is good, but when he like 2 for 12 it time to find someone else to hoist up the rock.

But the endings of both of the late games were great. I felt bad for West Virginia. The Mad Bombers almost had it, hit the shot to go ahead. Only to have Texas hit them right in the nuts with a 3 at the buzzer.

That ending was nothing compared to the entire 2nd half of the UCLA/Zag game. Down 17, it should have been over, but they kept hanging around and then bang they score the last 11 to win it. Sorry Mr. Porn Stache that it had to end like this but damn that was fun to watch.

Adam Morrison note - the man is an amazing hoops player and seems like an interesting guy, but at times you think he got a little crazy going on.

A quick NBA hoops note - I saw this as one of the items in the "In the News" section on Yahoo. I could not believe they would put it out there. But after watching the guy, I realized it was big news. If he does it two games in a row then a parade will be held. It would be a shame if he did finally come around. He would ruin all the hard work his predecessors had put in He still has the potential to be another Beniot Benjamin or Joe Barley Breathing (sorry I meant Barry Carroll), Chris Washburn, or Dwyane Schintzius. Dare to dream Kwame.

A busy day for me as the time grows short till I am back on GMT. A busy day for this Costa Mesa Shipping Magnet.

Got the Boski Mobile in for Oil

Set back Swedish/Bolivian relations 100 years

Worked on the yard.

Performed a breakdance routine that made Kasey Kasem weep

Work a little in the garage

Continued the planning of a violent over thrown of the current administration of the "Misfits of Science" fan club. Oh you will rue the day you messed with me!!!

So now I am about got about 2% of what I need to get done for the trip. I think I will be done around 5:00 PM next Friday, minutes after takeoff.

I just wished they would have waited till I got back. Hey I am as smart as Barry Melrose.

I feel bad for Andy, I loved the guy, but maybe his style is the reason this team keeps getting injured. This team got off to a great start and now we flopping like Ben Afflec movie. Hell the Ducks are ahead of us and that is not acceptable.

The players have let this team down more than anything. Sadly that means that blame is going to have to go to Dave Taylor. I love you Dave and all you done for the club, but you built the roster, so you get a heap of blame.

I thought Andy did a lot with very little. I will still think fondly of him and the only playoff series they won back in 2001. Nothing better than sticking it to the Red Wings. Thank you Andy and good luck to you, the winningest and losingest coach in Kings History.

I am hoping the Kings steal a page from the Devils history when they replaced Larry Robinson back in 1995-1996. Hell, I will take a playoff appearance at this point.

I just heard that they are looking for someone for a really cool position. Well the drive may be a problem. Let's see what does mapquest say from:

1313 Castle Boskistein Lane
Costa Mesa, CA 92626

to

280 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10017

. . . here we go it would only be a 2,800 mile commute. Hmmm, I will have to think about that.

Tags is stepping down after 16 years of service. People thought no one could ever top Rozelle, but I think what Paul has done for the league puts him right there. He has brought us labor peace, even though I was not happy about the Rams leaving. Georgia the Goat and John Shaw, you both suck a lot of ass. I am not a Rams fan, but that shit was not cool. But thinking about it, I do get to see more games than if there was a team in the market.

I can not think of anyone better qualified than myself. In fact, if I get this job I can have them remove the restraining order they have on me.

Well made it through. Since Friday proved to be the end of Boski's Zombie NCAA brackets. It made watching the games less stressful.

What did I do. On the plus side, got a haircut. I know that is not exciting, but to me I always feels 1,000% better after one. Even back when in the days of Supercuts. Thankfully my wife found me someone who does a great job with this mob. Oh I have come a long way from the days of what hat should I wear today? I do fuss with my hair. I am not as bad as John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, but I have had my "don't touch the hair" moments. Look it is the one thing on me that does not bring me shame.

I also found time to watch the Madness, NFL Europe, EPL and some hockey. Also did get some errands done, so I am not a total slacker, getting there though.

On the Bad side, had two more people cancel on us for our trip, and that makes four in that last 2 weeks, so right now we have a total of 4 people going on our trip, and me and the Better Half make up half of that. So I spent a good part of the morning trying to sleep off the disappointment. Finally got up and headed out to the Better Half's office, to get trips stuff done. We are still going, even if we have to Wally World it.

Again I ask any of you if you have two week of free time and about $3,000 bucks you can come along to Belfast.

TV notes:

Little Britain is back and it is still awesome.

Soprano's - I glad it is back, the last time it was on, Caesar was crossing the Rubicon. But it was worth the wait. What is up with A.J. and that Prince Valiant mop? Loved the first episode, and I actually like last night's. I know everyone hates those dream sequences, but I think it still works. I say this not because they mention the current home of Team Boski, Costa Mesa and the Hotel where we had our wedding reception. I think it is setting things up for a whole truck load of shenanigans. I trust David Chase. Also how can things go wrong when the show is being directed by the best Power Forward from Carver High. He would have kicked the crap out of Marco Baldi, if Salami had played in the Big East. I also think he would have not back down from Michael Graham and Rony Siekley, but he would have not f'ed with Derrick Coleman.

Big Love - I am in so far. I think it has some legs. It is the anti-Deadwood with the language, but it makes up for it with the head board hockey. I think there is enough that I it would have made Sex in the City blush.

Today's is a quiet one, like most St. Pat's days for me. Don't get me wrong I like to have a pint, listen to some good tunes and celebrate being where I came from. But I just take a more tranquil route for celebrating. I am one who is not into the celebrations that get sloppy in a hurry by a people who could careless about being Irish or not. But please do not get me worng, I glad people have a good time today, no matter who you are. I really do not have any problems with today. Okay I have two St. Patrick's Day celebration problems. One, those who feel that the only reason for St. Patrick's day is to get trashed before 10:00 AM on a weekday. That folks in not a good idea, especially in the land of bad public transit. Hey people still have to drive jackass. My second issue and I apologize for going all Seamus X on everyone, but why do grocery stores put their St. Patrick's Day decorations next to the booze. What is up with that? Sure there is drinking involved, but come on. We did not land of the Blarney Stone, the Blarney Stone landed on us. Oh, I did get Seamus X there sorry.

Today I donned my nearly eye burning green Ireland Rugby jersey and headed up to Culver City. I go up and visit my dad. I was worried about rain, but thankfully got none. I also made good time. From Costa Mesa to Culver City in an hour, not too shabby.

I grabbed my dad a cup of coffee and drove in to Holy Cross. Pulled out the laptop and the i-pod. Sat down and played some Irish music for my dad and also watched parts of the World Series DVD. I do really miss watching baseball with him, that was always a joy.

I like sitting out there, it is a place I can feel calm and at peace. My dad's in a nice spot. On a clear day, you can see the water.

Enjoyed an hour sitting with him and visiting other family there. I sat and thought about a lot of things in my life and my future. Sadly, the time had come and I need to get back. This trip still needs to be planned. So I left the coffee, his packets of Sweet and Low and two bucks for him. (its a long story). Told him that I miss him and loved him and that I will be back on Father's Day.

So I say to all of you, please have a safe St. Patrick's Day. I know have to go back to work and also keep an eye watching my teams lose.

March is here and basketballs fill the air. Today is a special edition of the blog muffin. Where I give you my random thoughts on the events I witnessed today. So if I go all Larry King on you. You all have my permission to shoot me.

Got up and already my teams are losing.

Nothing helps a drive on the freeway like yelling at your radio because the teams you picked are flinging up ill advised 3's.

Boston College you are trying to kill me, right?

Did I see this right? Hey we have to have dreams.

Bomb scare in San Diego. What did they see my bracket?

The Minneapolis region is going to be my problem child.

Speaking of bombs, CBS may have found something to top the shark movie they did a while back. David Arquette is trying to stop a bomb from going off at a "big football game". Shouldn't David be more worried about the bombing of his own career. Wow are things so bad that they have to rip off a bad Van Damme film.

Alright the morning games are done and I 1 for 4. Vegas should send a car for me.

This tournament does not have any multi-directional terror squads this year. (thanks Eric)

The Better Half and I went out to catch the games at a sports bar near us. She got me in for an event through her work. She is awesome. I know you had to twist my arm to watch sports. Thanks to the nice people who hosted.

My question for the Tennessee player who hit the winning shot. How did play the whole game with that shot up your ass, since you pulled the game winner out of your ass.

I wish that there was a D1 school named Mortimer, so that maybe, just maybe there would be bracket that would have Winthrop, Mortimer and Duke.

Other than the CSI, College and Pro Football, this is the only time I watch CBS. I know I do not watch much network TV, but are you kidding me with some of these shows. Did Jenna Elfman need another sitcom and who is watching it? Two and Half Men, this is not how I want to remember Ducky and Ricky Vaughn. NCIS, Mark Harmon you should have just left it Summer School. They did cancel Love Monkey right?

Round two a little better. The Bruins looked good, so did Florida. 3 out of 4, not bad. Would have been better if Nevada had not be stuck down by the dreaded 5-12 game disease.

Hey UTEP, "Glory Road" a nice film. Hell the real story is more inspiring, but your are still in the NIT. So do not try to charm me with the throwback Texas-Western jerseys as you play Michigan. Look, please be quiet the adults are try to watch the real tournament.

Sign me up for a cot at Gitmo. I am pulling for Mexico in the WBC. I hate Roger Clemens that much.

A friend of mine who I had not seen in forever stopped in and we caught the late afternoon and evening games. It was good to catch up.

If the Zags had not won, I was so going to smack that bad stache off Adam Morrison's mug.

Went 3 for 4 in the early evening games. If UNC Wilmington had not blown chunks at the end it would have been 4 for 4. That is that last time I pick the a university that was used to shot "Dawson's Creek". Thanks Pacey, you douche.

Barry Bonds, what are we going to do with you?

The L.A. Kings continue their slide with a piss poor outing against the Stars.

Mexico beats the US. We get three hits. That is karma folks. Mexico is getting us back for the World Cup.

Last CBS quip. If the female dectective is so good at solving crimes that have been cold. Why then can't she find herself a sandwich and some sun light?

Duke wins, again. I wonder if this is the year Billy Packard and Dick Vitale fight to see who loves Duke more?

The Orangemen lose. I have not been this upset with them since the Battle of the Boyne.

The night games go 2 -2 for old Uncle Boski. So that makes for a mediocre 9 - 7 day. Magic I tell you.

Happy Birthday to one of the greatest White Sox ever, and my favorite baseball player.

my NCAA picks. I will try to let all of you know what they are so you can make your fortunes by betting against them.

Speaking of Office Pools. Is it wrong to do an NIT Pool? I mean is just a crime, in that it is gambling. Or is it more a crime against humanity and all that is decent. I am not going to say that I am, but how about those Manhattan Jaspers punking Fairleigh Ridiculous . . . oh again I have said too much.

Please excuse me I must clean up this shame I have split.

that watching the Japan vs. USA WBC game yesterday, that I think shenanigans were afoot and I know who is at fault. It is clear to me after seeing the bad call yesterday on the Sac fly that this is on W.

Look if he was hell bent to go into Iraq as a way of getting back at Saddam for trying to bump off his dad. Then I am sure that he had the umps reverse their call. W wanted to get back at Japan for making his dad hurl at a state dinner.

Hey this rant makes as much sense as his our president.

Friday night the Better Half and I went to dinner with my sister and brother in law. They were taking us out to treat the Better Half for her birthday and since she could not find a kennel I had to come along. My brother in laws work owed him big time for the work he had done for them so they gave him. So they gave him a dinner for four at Disneyland. Okay I can see your eyes rolling, but at the park there is a little place called Club 33. Now I know that may not mean to most of you, but as someone who put in 5 years at the Mouse House. I could go into that but all of you have lives so I will save that for future post. So many tales to bore you with. This makes going to Club 33 has a special, for this idiot. It is an a members only restaurant in New Orleans Square. The price of member ship is very steep and there is a waiting list that is not as bad as waiting for Packers seasons, but long enough.

It is the only spot where you can buy alcohol at Dinseyland. And it is the sight where Margaret Trudeau beat Ernie Shavers in 10 rounds in 1975, during a non title fight.

The restaurant was created out of space of Walt's apartments he had at the park. No, they do not keep Walt's frozen head up there. That is just ridiculous, they have it out in a freezer behind Pirates and Jungle. Oh sure they label it as a freezer for Outdoor Vending, but I was never fooled.

It was something I always wanted to do. I had been up there once, but it was for a castmember event where you could go and see some of the inner working of some of the attractions and other interesting items. We arrived for an 8:00PM dinner in the cold and wet. Apparently Winter broke out here in Southern California for a couple of days or as the rest of you would call early spring weather. We rang the buzzer and we were let in to the foray. Rode up the antique elevator and to the main dining area, where we put on our robes and performed the customary Masonary Blood Rituals. After a quick washup we were shown our seats. We had a delightful dinner, not the best meal I have ever had, but very good. Got to to enjoy watching the Fantasmic Show on the Rivers of America, where I thought back on those salad days where I would be on the bow of the Columbia doing the Icky Shuffle during the show. The meal was not worth what it cost, but hey it was on someone else's dime. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I was not so worried I was going to get the bums rush and forced to work closing at the Jungle Cruise.

So I have scratched that one off. Next up, working on putting on an off, off, off Broadway show of Webster, but have it performed by cougars.

Mr. Bush says,

rejection of port deal "sends a bad message".

Well your presidency sends a bad messaae, so now you know how we feel.

I was getting gas for the Boskimoblie when I saw that they were selling Von Dutch Energy Drink.

Seriously WTF?

No, I need an answer here. Why? Isn't that against EPA regulations or something?

Great, it's the new Crystal Pepsi for a retarded generation.

Hey, who needs cures for cancer, AIDS, or even something that has nutritional value to anyone other than a dentist?

All the worlds problems can be solved with another shitty energy drink.

That's what TV told me and TV is never wrong.

If you have followed this blog you will know that I have very little, dare say no love for the Twins. In fact I have made the following statements about the Twins:

- The Twins are really apart of a pyramid scheme contrived by the Yankees

- The Twins broke up Husker Du

- Chased off Paul Bunyan

- and wrote the script for Prince's second movie "Under the Cherry Moon".

But today I will put away the anger and express sadness that Kirby Puckett has passed. I does suck that the last ten years were not the greatest for him, which the can be pinned on Kirby himself. But I will say that damn it he was fun to watch play.

Today, I started my Spring Training as a fan. Watched a a bit of the Mets vs Indians on ESPN. I was able to get a couple innings of rooting against the Tribe. I felt I got some good work in. I was able to spot by booing pretty well, but I know my witty banter and berating of teams needs some work. I was just happy not to pull any rooting muscles.

I have a feeling I have seen some of these kids roaming the neighborhood. Well that is life on the mean streets of the CM.

What happened to meeting at the bike rack at 3:00 PM to settle things.

"Headmaster Ritual" from the Smith's.

We all want to hurt you for being a douche and giving us such awful music. But the only person who is trying to hurt you with the sex tape is yourself, since you were dumb enough to film it.

So it was you and Kid Rock, obviously the both of you were on your way to that Mensa meeting and one thing lead to another.

Please focus on driving the speed limit.

Doing 50 is not going to cut it. Traffic is actually moving.

Also please stay to right and wade in the kids pool if you are worried for the well being of that tasty ride of yours.

Thanks

Wow Mr. Bonds, that is almost as ugly as your soul. But you know I think you captured Paula's demented and crazy look.

So kudos to you.

Not to totally slam you Barry, I will give you some credit for trying to help someone other than yourself and being a team player.

And it will be the disappointment badge.

Why did you have to go and mess with those little minty disk of heaven?

The Thin Mints were just fine. But oh no, someone had to change them. They just are not the same now. I feel like I have suffered a loss. All because some mucky muck had to go urinate in the punch bowl.

While we are in the mood to mess up treasures, maybe we can do the following:

  • Have a remake of "A Woman Named Moses" and we will have Jessica Simpson play the part of Harriet Tubman.

  • Paint a "Vote For Pedro Shirt" on the Mona Lisa

  • Maybe we can open a Subway at the Taj Mahal

  • Update the Sistine Chapel and remove some of the saints and angels and replace them with Scences from the first two season of the "Osborne's". (oh wait, that could be amusing)

Now I am not blaming the pig-tailed rank and file. They just push those lovely oven baked crack-like substances. But someone has mess up big time, and I want some answers!

Okay, I feel much better for getting that out.

That is what I would like to say to the NFL owners.

You are not seeing the forest for the trees. Find a balance that you can all live with. The whole big revenue/small revenue crap is what almost killed baseball.

When you dicks get that done, then go grab Upshaw and get the CBA done.

I do not want to see the NFL make unsweet love to itself.

Last Memorial Day Week after seeing episode III of the George Lucas Gravy Train. It made me think about some questions I still needed some answering. (Sorry you have to go down a bit, but those questions are there). I kept having one thing always popping up in my head.

Boba Fett The Wonder Years or Boba at 15 (I am still trying to find the right title.)

I have been always curious about what happened to Boba after Episode II until he returns in Empire. I thought you could have a nice little show about Boba as he is picked up by a loving family who take him and raise him as their own. He like any ordinary kid except he is wearing that helmet the whole time. You can already see the class photos. But the twist that even as a kid he talks with that angry bounty hunter voice he has. Hearing him talk about the joys and sorrows of being kid. If I have not convinced you he is a scene. (Sorry, I was a little bit of a Star Wars geek, so I may get into some arcane references. Also sorry for my sorry script writing abilities)

[Emperor Palintine High School - Datoonie - 5th Period Geometry. A middle aged man with glasses walking down the rows of chairs. Students looking with anticipation]

Mr. Tuttle - "Lobaca, nice effort"

[Young wookie child high five student in next desk, knocking them over]

Mr. Tuttle - "Mr. Porkins, the pi I was asking for is not something you eat.

[Drops test on the desk of a husky youth]

Porkins "Ah, Tantan disks!"

[Stern look from Mr. Tuttle, then he stops at Boba's desk]

Mr. Tuttle "Mr. Fett, I am proud of the work" [Drops test on desk]

[Camera holds on the paper, and then pans to Tuttle as he goes up and begins to talk about the next chapter, begin Boba's voice over]

Boba "That was the most satisfying B I ever got. Mr. Tuttle was alright. He was harsh, but the man was more than fair. He was not some old fossil hell bent on making kids cry. He cared, he just wanted what was best for all of us. It made me value hard work and realize I could open so many doors if I applied myself."

[Begin fade]

"I always had the greatest respect for the man. In fact he wrote me a great letter of recomendation for college. I never really got to say thank you, but I did catch up to him a couple years later.

[Fade Out]

[Fade In - Flea bag No-Tell Motel on Ord Mantel. Mr. Tuttle now a little grayer and a Wookie Lady of the Night enter a dingy low lit room].

Mr. Tuttle - Hey, I got the place for a couple of hours, I'll break out the booze and we can get to business"

Wookie Floozy "AAAARRRRRRGGGGGRRRGGGGAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH"

Mr. Tuttle "Hold on a second, you said 50 back in the landspeeder. Whose the one getting JarJar'd here? Ah hell, you only live once. [Takes off coat] I have never done it with a Wookie"

Wookie Tart "AAAAAARRRRRGGGGAAARRRG [coyly]

[Then the door is busted down. Boba enters then quick pan to Mr. Tuttle]

Mr. Tuttle "Don't shoot, don't shoot! Please! Wait! [pause] Hey, I know you. Boba, Boba Fett is that you? [sighs a sigh of deep relief] I have not seen you in years, I thought you were a bounty hunter looking for me. So why are you here?"

[Pan to Boba who then draws his weapon and starts blasting Mr. Tuttle]

Boba's Voice: "Sure I felt bad about shooting the guy."

[Boba searches for Mr. Tuttle wallet]

"But when you mess with Mr. Hutt's money, you pay the price."

[Pulls out the cash, gives a small wad to the Wookie Call Girl, then walks out into the hall]

"It was good seeing him again." [Walks toward the camera]

[Begin fade to title and cue Joe Cocker]

The End

I working this week. I am answering phones above ground this week for some scratch. So I think there will be some blogging done this week I tell you.

Excuse me Mr. Thomas, I want to first say thank you for all that you did as member of the White Sox. You gave me and many others many a thrill during your tenure. You maybe go down as the greatest player to be a White Sox, in fact I am still pissed you got jobbed on the MVP in 2000. I know that the day is coming when your #35 will be retired, but right now:

"Just shut your cake hole!"

Kenny I am glad you finally let Frank have it. Frank the Sox carried you a long time when they could have dumped you. They put up with your shitty attitude in the club house. Frank you can't drive in runs from the DL. I checked. They had to move on. If you hit from the left side they would have worked with you Frank. You no longer hit .320 and draw walks. So having a guy who can only DH and who has not played a full season since 2003. You can not even play first any more, you may have less range than David Ortiz.

Frank you can be bitter that they did not have you back, but I think they tried and you would have not been happy to be a role player. So they gave you a chance to make one more run. So what do you do, you piss all over them. So you did not mean what you said on the World Series DVD? Hey, I can understand you needed to get an "edge" by motivating yourself that you have an axe to grind, but you are clutching at straws.

So from now on Frank, you will go by moniker that my friend Billski Burgervich would always call you, "The Big Stank". This will continue until you make peace. So go and have fun with Moe Green at the Trop, you are dead to the family. May you have season full of bad clams.

Best wishes,

The Mayor of White Sox Village

P.S. you are off the Christmas Card list.

This weekend the world was dealt some cruel blows.

First, Don Knotts passing.Oh Barney Fife you are going to that police station in the sky.

This man gave us so much:

The Andy Griffith Show

The Incredible Mr. Limpet

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

The Apple Dumpling Gang

Gus (Also Dick Butkus finest work before Blue Thunder the TV series)

Hot Lead and Cold Feet

and

Three's Company (I think he did the best he could with the material, but he was no Mr. Roper. I wonder if they are not sitting down right now comparing notes on being property managers)

You may not know this, but me and Don we were close. So I never meet him, but while working my summers on Big Thunder Mountian, there was a railcar on the ride, that was used in the Movie "Hot Lead and Cold Feet". So I am surprised that I am not going to be asked to speak at the memorial service.

I just hope now that now they can finally show the episode of the Andy Griffith show they never aired. The one that truly explains why Barney left. The episode is a hard hitting, hard drinking and hard loving morality play of 22 minutes in which Barney meets Dr. Timothy Leary and goes on a trip that will lead him to Mexico where he proclaims himself as the "Treasure of the Sierra Madre". But in the time in between, Barney:

Decks Andy

Gives Opie an Atomic Wedgie of biblical proportions

Makes Otis Dance through the town in a tutu

Slow dances with Goober

Makes a drunken pass at Aunt Bea

Sells Thema Lou to Ernest T. Bass

Shoots Floyd the Barber in the ass with his one bullet (which you know he did. If you notice in the later episodes, Floyd is never standing.)

and then helps the Russian invade Mayberry.

Wouldn't that be a great episode.

All kinding aside Don was a hoot and he will be missed.

The second one was this man

Ralphie's Dad, Mr. Madison, the Night Stalker, one of the creepy dude's in the Natural has gone as well. He was a great character actor, right up there with the bald guy from "Top Gun" and Back to the Future. I am going to be a little sad come Christmas, when they play "A Christmas Story". A role that I can say he should have been nominated for a Supporting Actor. Without him the movie does not have the legs it does, sure the story is about Ralphie, but Darren brings it home and makes it a classic. So I will try to get a Forty, and pour it out for him while yelling,

"BUMPUS', SONS OF BITCHES!"

In the most primordial voice I can hit. I could just watch that on a loop for hours.

So fare the well Night Stalker thank you for all the entertainment.

Lastly, Larry Storch. Not you as well Corporal Agarn. Oh wait, this just in. He's not dead, just his career. Come on Larry make a come back.

Well I would like to again express my gratitude to you gentlemen for giving me so much entertainment and a reason to kill time. And also would like to express condolences for them as well.

Saw an ad for the movie "Running Scared". It kind of peaked my interest, I will attribute that to the use of the Nine Inch Nails song during the promo, but they lost me when they throw in this reviewers quote, "This is Paul Walker's finest work".

What?

To steal from Jules from Pulp Fiction, "that's a bold statement".

But then I thought, "Wow, from his body of work this is a real coup". Look out Olivier".

Can this be better than his seminal works with Fast and Furious franchise?

Is it as stirring as his hard hitting roles in such epics as "Into the Blue" and "She's All That"?

I will wait with baited breath.

Looks like the bird flu may do what the Spanish Armada and Hitler could not do. Well even if the ravens get through this, they may pack up if Charles and his steed Camilla take the throne.

Come to think of it, the Baltimore Ravens would be smart if they send Kyle Boller over as gesture of good faith. He will be helping continue a wonderful tradition at the Tower of London, while being a position not to do any damage to the Ravens playoff hopes. He may damage some windows, wing some tourist and dent a crown, but he will be doing a service for all of us.

Let's here it for a fearless leader Mr. Bush.

Now that you "on board" for the push for alternative energy. Which you are about 5 years late getting a serious start on. I had to laugh at your visit to the Energy Departments National Renewable Energy Lab in Colorado. A lab, where thanks to you and lackeys, had cut their budget. But hey we need those tax breaks so Joe Average get that $300 bucks for that $30,000 credit card bill, and the top 1% needs their ivory back scratchers. Two weeks before your field-trip, thanks to these cuts they came up $28 million short of their budget. Again maybe, just maybe if asked for some competitive bids on the reconstruction of Iraq (which is now being called Tammany Hall II Electric Bugaloo) they would have it. So they had to lay off employees who are working on alternative energy. Thanks to your quick thinking you got their jobs back. A nice gesture, but there is one problem. They are still 23 million short to do the work you claim you want them to do. This could be a good time for the oil companies to chip in and help them develop a Hummer that will consume twice as much gas. See Big Oil cares.

You have finally hit bottom when I will actually agree with Bill Frist. Wait, I am checking right now and there was a frost warning for parts of hell. What the hell are we doing allowing the out sourcing the management of six major American ports. This is not a xenophobic rant, but why are we allowing Dubai Ports World to take control of managing these ports. A company based in U.A.E., which has been a Greyhound Bus Terminal for terrorist activity. Sure the government is "ally", but 98 percent of the people in U.A.E. could careless about this deal and more who cares about the US.

Has the U.S. done anything to really improve secruity at our ports. Have we increased the budget for the Coast Guard? Are we scanning and tracking all those containers? Also after watching the second season of "The Wire" there is too much shit that can go down at the ports. Maybe if we were doing a better job at our ports then I would think differently. I say this not only because of fear of weapons being smuggled, which does scare the bejebus out of me, but the traffic of drugs, money and people.

Finally Mr. Bush, I am not happy that a "Great British" (yes he said that) company is in charge of commercial operation on six Eastern seaports because of the concerns I listed above. These are important strategic and economic assets and they should be managed by American companies. But if they are being handled by your fiends er. . . I mean friends then lets handle them over.

First it was the SI jinxing this Dazzling Dude. Oh, where have you gone Fennis?

Then it was the coming of Darth Cheney, who is now blasting his way into our hearts. I should not be surprised, but I am dumbstruck about what happened. I ran across this and it makes a great point about how stupefying the inquiry to this shooting was. (thanks to "Should've Asked Me") It looks like now that the Executive Branch is safe from the erosion of the constitution. The upside has been Jimmy Kimmel has delivered some nice bits on this. Please enjoy this one. (Thanks to MilkandCookies)

Now today it was the passing of the Curt Gowdy aka the"Cowboy". I am so glad that I was able to hear a little bit of him growing up doing the NFL and some baseball. But I will always be grateful for something I was not around for. He was the voice of the AFL. Thank you Curt. They have never been able to adequtely replace you on "The American Sportsman".

Reviews for Boski's Blog of Fun

"It is a cross between William Faulkner and Peter Falk. It has Faulkner's longwindedness and the direction of Peter Falk's lazy eye."

Hey this is still miles ahead from what Cat Fancy had to say.

Sorry to go walk about on all eight of you out there who read this. I thought I would have so much time to blog when my temp assignment finished. Well like my predictions that Sigue Sigue Sputnik, the Atari Lynx and the XFL would all end up being greater than the invention of the printing press, they all failed. You live, you learn. I did actually try to sit down and blog, I tried to put up some pictures. After waiting 30 minutes for one of them to load (thanks dial up) I had to stop. I was going to collapse my skull from pounding the desk with it.

Let's go to the highlights from a man who gives nothing but lowlights.

Dinner and Drinks - The Better Half took me out for a nice dinner. She had felt bad that she had a really crappy schedule and since we car pool there were many a night spent sitting around her office. I kept telling her it was okay, and that I felt bad that work was nuts. Hell, this woman has put up with my abnormal interest in NFL Europe. So she would have to hit me with a hammer or make me go to see Yanni to make me perturbed. So we trekked to a nice Belgian restaurant in Laguna. Before the meal, we got a little trashed drinking at the bar at The Royal Hawaiian. It was such an amazing meal. It was so good I almost thought about not creating a time machine so I could go back and beat the crap of King Leopold. Almost I said.

Super Bowl XLzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Glad to see the Steelers beat Team Potted Meat. This was all sizzle no steak. In fact this game would be a nice gristle sandwich. Oh sure it taste like steak, but after chewing on it for 3 plus hours you realize that all you got every little out of it.

Enjoyed the game watching with my good friend, Steeler fan, and King of the Desert Hooligans. I was glad to see him see his team not shoot it's self in the foot. Whoa, hold on their Mr. Cheney, just put down the rifle I will get to you later, just using a shoot analogy. But he is an Angels fan and after this fall and 1997's AFC Championship Game, things had to even out.

Super Bowl notes - Enjoyed some of the commercial, others were dumb and some were just rammed into the ground. If I heard another Greys anatomy ad with "It's a code black". I was going to go down and give everyone a black eye.

The Better Half got off some great lines during the halftime show. My favs:

After watching the Stones for a few moments, "What is this,"Assisted Living Dracula?" (sorry it's a joke from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but still funny as hell).

After someone talked about the stage setup. "What is Mick going drive around on a Rascal?

On Mick decision to wear a cut off shirt. "Look I was not put on this earth to look at some 65 year old guys stomach. That is just not right.

Other items:

My first week of freedom, well almost. I spent a lot of time trying to work on stuff around the house. Still have a ton to do. But it has led me to the fact I need to find a way to work from home and that work be involving sports. Seriously can someone help a brother out.

The Winter Olympics - Other than curling and hockey, will some one please wake me when they are done.

The Great One's gambling scandal - You think Wayne has had enough to deal with, coaching, the passing of a parent and I believe a grandparent, now Toccett-Gate. I think it is still too early to say if Wayne was involved, but what kind of world do we live when Janet Jones is dropping that kind of green on Football. It has to be Wayne's money. You can not tell me she amassed that from Police Academy 5 and the Flamingo Kid. I know Wayne loves Tocchet, but as a Kings fan he is bad news. I know the guy scored 48 goals with Pittsburgh, but we traded Lucky for him and we got nothing. It took the Kings years to get things straighten out after that. Sadly this is not the first time Wayne was "involved" with something nefarious. Two words, "Bruce McNall". Also thanks to Wayne, he brought in Charlie Huddy, who lead an escort service to the net during his time with the Kings.

Skating with Celebs, not enough "celeb" spill and chills. But I am pulling for the only one who did spill blood, Christy Swanson. Please defeat the souless shrill harpy that is Jillian Barbarie.

Oh darn I missed the Grammy's. When the music industry spends three hours celebrating the steaming pile of crap they rammed down our throats. I think I would have shot myself if forced to watch. PUT THE GUN DOWN MR. CHENEY! I am just making a bad joke. Easy there big guy. Most of the acts I could have cared less about. There were some that I was glad to see win something, but mostly it is souless and blank, kinda like Maria Carrey. I heard the opening of the show was a over hyped, over blown, cartoonesque, visual carcophany of lights sound and dance to hide poor singing and the Gorillaz. Well it looks like the Gorillaz were not destroyed, so maybe their is hope for Guy Ritchie. Last nitpick of the Grammy's, why is it that they reward good artist years too late and for albums that aren't that great. I am sorry but that Santana album that swept the awards was not great, but did they even give him a look for the work he should have rewarded, no. What asshats.

Baseball is almost back. Pitchers and catchers are about to report. The White Sox prepare to defend their title. Oh I got goose bumps typing that. But the glow of the Pro Bowl has past so, it is the lean season for sports. I used to love college hoops but call me in March. The NBA, my roto team sucks so why should I care. Hockey, stupid Olympics had to interrupt. Arena Football, I sorry it is tough for me to support people for doing what I used to get in trouble doing as a kid. Maybe if they put up a lamp or a picture frame up on the nets and if a team hits or breaks it, they get in trouble now I trying to get back on the EPL.

I was disappointed about the Katrina hearings. I did like the grilling of Browne, what an assclam. I just wished they had put an apple in his mouth as they roasted him. But looking at all these departments and their reactions I am surprised more did not die. Everyone has some blame to accept, but as we all know that this starts at the top and this country got what it voted for.

Mr. Bush, glad to see you saved us coked out, commie liberal asses. We should just get on hands and knees and thank you for doing what you are supposed to do, defend this country. It is in the job description. Go read it, have Laura help you with the big words. I am sorry but this whole domestic wiretap thing is crap. The terrorist are smart enough to know not use land lines and other communications that are easily monitored. But then they my still use those because they know that we do not have enough people to properly translate. Right now, they are using disposable cell phones like drug dealers. Easy to get and toss, but tough to trace. But then no one has ever thwarted a terrorist attack without running roughshod over the constitution. Oh wait Clinton did in 2000 with the foiling of the Seattle Space Needle. I know Mr. President supporting the constitution and checks and balances makes me a humus eating terrorist. Look I think what needs to be done can be done while protecting civil liberties, not easy but it can. We tout ourselves as free and a model for others to follow, but our actions contradict that. Hey I am just saying.

Hey what is up with Elmer Fudd...er I mean the Vice President. Maybe this is why you got out of Vietnam Mr. Cheney. Look I am not a smart man, but turning and firing a shotgun when you know you have someone behind you and the sun in your eyes is morbidly retarded. What are Quail that dangerous? I sure those are the birds the terrorist will use next to strike at us. Mr. Cheney what were you pissed that you those evil Quail were going to do the old, one sneak behind while another rushes up and pushes over the other one? Good to see you can still clip a 78 year old guy with buck shot. Wow that guy did not have a good weekend. But don't worry Mr. Cheney like telling Scooter Libby about disclosing who was a CIA op, or covering for Haliburton and Enron it will all just get swept aside. You are a class act sir, a class act.

Still looking for people for our Belfast trip, so if you or anyone you know is free from March 31st to April 15th, I still have spots available.

Well I have run on too long, just like the majority of the sentences in this entry. I wanted to get this out. Please forgive all the errors and lack of cohesion, too much cough syrup.

Well, today I now I have too much I want to get into so I will try to force myself to Cliff Note it.

From the Shame Department - Week 3 and I finally got to see blood on the ice. Kristy Swanson come on down. I actually felt bad about it, even though I watched the fall 6 times. She did a good routine. Next week I was teased with two "celebs" are rushed to the hospital. Please, please Jillian Barbarie and the woodchipper. One time, come on.

State of the Union - The High Grand Pooba of Failing Upwards again spewed crap like a champ. I tired to watch, but I was getting too angry to watch the whole thing. But then I just want the terrorist to win. Mr. Bush nearly everything you have touched in your terms as president has turned to shit. You are the "Yes Dear" of Presidents. You are show that no one watches, critics could care less about, but you are still on every week.

Hey good to see you are going to back Iran further into a corner. Look I am not a fan of theirs either, but a little diplomacy, please. Hey thanks, I won the pool I had the over on you butchering nuclear.

I did not know if to laugh or cry when you rolled out we are addicted to Oil. You are a little slow on the up take there. Hmmm, so at this rate on knowledge absorption when you are 80 Global Warming is not good.

So you are still going to try to ram the your Three Card Monty game . . . er I mean your Social Security Plan on us.

More tax cuts and cutting of social programs. Again you are making the Adam Smith "invisable hand", give us the finger. Who needs to send kids to college, public programs or affordible health care. You know who supports college loans, and Medicare. Osama Bin Laden. The insurgents, want to extend unemployment benefits to works. But seriously, health care needs to be fixed and soon. What should scare you is right now the numbers of medical students going into general practice is shrinking faster the Polar Ice Caps. Why, doctors who do general practice are not doing it for the money anymore. They are over whelmed by the HMO's and they are scared of lawsuits. But then I want the terrorist to win if we do not allow the drug companies and HMO's to make more money while providing less.

Last bit from the State of Disunion - I know I have mentioned this elsewhere, but you did look so pleased when you gave a copy of you speech to the Speaker and Darth Cheney. You had the, look, I did it all in cursive and I stayed in the lines. That one,s going up on Grandpa Cheney's fridge.

Bush cuttings continued - George love that you took a page from your dad about the photo with Abramoff. Your dad got away with mugging with Old Pineapple Face Noreiga. Now it is your turn, and since you're such a dolt, your I don't remember taking a photo with him may actually work.

Oprah - you are a Douche bag of Biblical Proportions. I was so glad you stepped in this flaming bag of dog shit. But seriously did you need a whole hour whipping the guy on TV. He deserves scorn, but that was overkill. But then phony authors and people who do not sell you hand bags are the really enemies. Hey Oprah, sue him and then take the proceeds and give your audience more useless crap. All the while as Tom Cruise makes sweet, sweet love to angry bear.

The Super Bowl - still trying to wrap my head around the game. Right now I like Pittsburgh. If they can run on the edges then they will win. But if not then I think Sea Chickens will get enough out Alexander to win. But I am going Pittsburgh 27 - Team Potted Meat 20. But more importantly we are less than two weeks away from the Pro Bowl. Which means one thing. NFL Europe is almost here.

Kobe Bryant - Wow if he had better supporting players this team would be dangerous, but since he doesn't it easy to see why he has to keep jacking up shots. I love the guy on the court, off the court, Kobe you are still in time out. But he is amazing to watch.

The Oscar's I would have more witty banter, but I don't go to the movies. I just wait till they're on cable. So I am little behind, hmmm Gandhi. Did this just come out?

Well sadly like the ADD child I am I have to get going on work. Please try the free samples and stay tuned for VH-1's Behind The Gameshow: Press My Luck.

So far.

I got nothing today. I have blown all my A-stuff on other people's comments section. I really have to focus on delivery the daily brew of nonsense that a handful of you look forward to.

Had an uneventful weekend. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Some time with the Boski Clan. Other than that I have nothing. I am trying to warm up to the Super Bowl. I thought I would have been over the beat down the Broncos took by Wednesday, but I should be finally over it in the next 30 minutes or so.

I did get good new last week. I will be freed of the dungeon Friday. At that time, I will be exchanged for 3 KGB spies at Checkpoint Charlie.

I will be taking the time off to work on getting ready for our trip, and digging anti tank trenches, to defend the homeland.

Well that is all the steam hot lame that is the Boskiverse I have right now. I will try to bring you the best in all things useless.

Today I got an unexpected day off. Which would have been nice if it was not for the those in my fair city who encroached on our compound.

Yesterday, a city street crew came out to our home, while we were at work and proceeded to do work with out our consent. Which would be fine if they did not come on to our property and damage it. Seriously WTF!

We come home and see a couple and find:

a couple of city orange cones in our yard

a patch of asphalt where a part of our bushes used to be (which look ridiculous, if you are going to that, then put in concrete it now looks like crap

broken tree and bush branches thrown back into the yard

and dirt thrown back into the bushes

To sum it up it, this was the intersection of retarded and ridiculous. Welcome to Retardulous. (thanks Mrs. Boski)

So we called the cops and had them come out and see it. The officer was nice enough to come out talk to us and give us a name to call the next day.

Since Mrs. Boski had a ton of pressing issues at work, I volunteered to stay home and try to get answers. So I was out in the sunshine today, but not for reasons I wanted.

I called the city and they are going to looking into it. They sent out someone to take a look. The guy actually was a neighbor of ours. We talked and he informed me that someone probably complained about the that spot. The area in question, the sidewalk does get narrow, and there is a light pole in the middle. So that someone probably called and said that they could not navigate their wheelchair, or whatever through. So it has to be opened up to allow proper access. Which I completely understand and would have been happy to clear that out and let the city put in pavement. But no one even called us, or even sent us a letter. If I find out who it is they may get a right thrashing. Okay, I can't thrash them, but I feel better for getting that out. But I will express displeasure to them that they did not even extend the courtesy to tell us they had a problem. I have a feeling this is the same person who came out and ripped some bushes out of our beds and threw them out in the street. Who ever you are, you are a bastard and may you consume some really bad soup.

The guy from the city, was surprised at what he saw, and let me know that he was going to yell at someone, because it look ridiculous. This is not over. Team Boski will get answers. I just worry that the city will soon violate our neutrality and invade us.

And still my roto hoops team sucks ass. Great.

Monday saw another installment of the continuing decline of civilization "Wobbling and Flumbling on Ice with C-List Celebs". And again I did not see the spills I had hoped for. The only "star" hitting the ice was Todd Bridges, who I felt bad for. The guy did his best and came along way in a short time, but that ended Todd's time on the show. Well now he can pick up those manager shifts at Denny's in Culver City.

Notes from the show:

Mr. Jenner, Joan Rivers called and she is asking you to tone down on the face lifts. What is the deal with that Bruce, what did you need corrective surgery after doing "Can't Stop the Music"?

"Funny Man" "David Coulier" again put up a dull performance. I think one judge put it as, "you did nothing out there". I was just waiting for the shot of "Dave's" "agent" looking into the camera and saying. "Now you can see why I can even book him as a party clown."

Another interesting thing about "Dave" and Nancy's performance. They used a stool as a prop which was an apt metaphor for them. Well she's wooden and he's just stool.

The Audience - I think that the producers of the show have them boo when the judges give low scores. Look you slacked jaw yokels. Sir John Nicks has forgotten more about skating than any of you will ever know. Look the man is training the Sasha Cohen. So suck it if he give Debbie Gibson a bad score because she f'ed up. Seriously people.

The Host - Mr. Hamilton, I am glad you survived cancer and you had a great career, but can you stop yelling in octaves that piss off every animal with in a 3 block radius of my home. Love the energy, but I am not in love with the energy.

Jillian Barbarie - Hmmm a Fox show and Jillian's a Fox personality. And let's see, oh Jillian you competitivley skated before, so I don't think that would be unfair or anything. But how would Fox allow this, since their entertainment and news departments are pillars of integrity? (I know there are tribes in the Amazon yet to be discovered that knew that joke was coming.) Of all people, they picked her. A woman so annoying that Mother Teresa would take a swing at her. Saying she is shrill would be an offence to shrill. But this week, Jillian ran into problems. She suffered a groin pull. Maybe all those years working in those truck stop bathrooms is catching up. Hey I am here all week.

Coming up Bowling with Animal Stars

Well my year in sports. The Broncos run to glory was beaten into a an Orange and Blue paste Sunday, by the Steelers. Denver had no answers and Evil Jake made a brief appearance at the end of the 1st half to effectively end the competitive phase of the AFC Championship. Oh well, I could not expect the White Sox and Broncos to win at the same time, that would probably have exhausted any good luck or karma for at least 40 years.

The Broncos did have a good year, even with the disappointing end, but they played way above expectations. Now we will see what happens with them in 2005. I did not realize that they are way over the cap, but hopefully we can keep the important parts and build from this year. Hopefully this will be like 1996 came out of no where then become favorites to win the Super Bowl and then soil themselves at home. So that mean we go and win it all in 2006. Probably not, but that is the great thing about football is that seasons are now being won in March, April, May and June, with the roster moves and draft picks.

With the Bronco loss it does mean I can enjoy the Super Bowl and not sweat it out.

So congrats to the Steelers who have more than earned this trip. Now I am rooting for them to win it all so the King of the Desert Hooligans can see his team win it after the many near misses.

I just real surpassed that Vegas has made them a 3 1/2 favorite. Even though the AFC is head and shoulders above the NFC this year. I still thought that with Seattle's win they would have been given the nod, but in the next too weeks this line is going to move. I think it may get to Pittsburgh at 5 1/2. I just see so many people getting on the Steelers. Then come back to about 4 1/2 - 4. I can already see the Seahawks using this for motovation over the next two weeks.

Speaking of that I do expect we will see an entertaining game, unlike the majority of Super Bowls in the past. Which never stopped me from watching. But even I get tired of all the hype. That is why College Football needs a playoff system, so they can play that Championship Game the weekend before the Super Bowl. Hey, just a thought.

Well I have to get back to the exciting world of data entry.

Last night we watched Skating with Celebrities. Look my wife should not be forced to watch the NFL network and ESPN 24 hours a day. Even though I am against "reality" TV there are some that just can not be avoided. This is one of them.

First, I think they should have named the show Skating with Stars. Sure that would be too close to Dancing with the Stars. But who are we kidding. Everyone know that Fox steals anything that is not bolted down. Also, looking at the caliber of "celebrities" the use of the phrase stars would be logical. Since these people are all fiery bodies of gas.

I do not condone violence or brutality, but I watched in hopes of seeing C-list stars injure themselves, not seriously. Okay I am looking into seeing someone about this.

Even though I did not get the amount of thrills, spills and chills I had hoped, the thought of it is still there, so I am in.

There was a seriously missed opportunity at comedy last night. They were talking to "funny man" David Coulier who was asked by one of the judges, "What would you rather be holding? A hockey stick or Nancy Kerriagn? His answer was Nancy, but what he should have said was,

"Let's see, one is wooden and angular and the other one I can shoot a hockey puck with. Hmmm."

Again it is just one man's opinion.

Thanks again for viewing my shame and please fill out the comment cards.

What was supposed to be just a few week assignment just keeps getting extended. Another busy week doing administrative scut work (killing the brain cells one data entry key stroke at a time). Again do not get me wrong, I am drawing a check to fund that future kelp farm I have always wanted. The people here are nice and I have some healthcare administrations skills, but even if they offered me a job, I think I would say, "thanks, but no thanks." The underground thing is a pain (please sue Devo's "Working in a Coalmine"), but the other thing that gets me.

The half hour lunch.

But Matt that means you get out a half hour earlier.

Yeah, yeah save it. I hated it at Disney and I hate it here.

To me I like having an hour where "the man can't touch me". The other problem with only a half hour is that due to the location, I am stuck at the hospital. The big treat is getting on a tram to go the mall. Hmmm I am craving an Orange Julius right now.

I enjoy getting out of the office and being away from from my desk. I can let the sense of dread and tedium subside even if it is ever so briefly.

I know I should not gripe, it's not like I am Jurgis and I am working my shift at Brown and Company packing meat.

Maybe I should just realize that I am a square peg in this round hole world and should chuck it all and write "history".

While you here.

It has been busy to the point where I have not had a chance to ramble about the Broncos win Saturday night (yes, it was a bad call on the PI, I am not going to argue that and Bailey's Int has questions). It was not too long ago on this little blog, I had so many questions about this team and it's direction. Now they are one game away from the Super Bowl. And now their chances of getting there are much improved. I am not saying Sunday will be a walk in the park. If Denver had to go to Indy it would have been trying to scale Everest in flip-flops, now it is only trying to scale K-2 with one bunny slipper and one flip flop. But if Denver loses I can live with the Steelers going on, I will be bummed, but not catatonic. It would also make my friend the King of the Desert Hooligans very happy.

As for the NFC, I think we are going to have ourselves a good old-fashion rake fight. I think this game will be very entertaining and I think Carolina can pull one off (cue for all of you out there to bet on Seattle). I think Team Potted Meat fate is in the hands and the skull of Alexander and his bruised brain. If he can play then he opens up their passing game. If Seattle wins it will have the distinction of having the ugliest uniforms ever to play in a Super Bowl.

More on this as the week goes on.

With the whole Abramoff scandal and ensuring trial's, it made me think wistfully about one of my favorite political corruption cases. Let's go back in time to 1980 and Abscam. It was bribery, grainy video, corruption and shame. It had it all.

All of those memories made me think that CSPAN really needs to start a third channel. CSPAN - Classic. Just like ESPN Classic.

Just think:

Seeing Tip O'Neal as he battles Reagan and the Republicans, all the while he fights against sobriety. You can not tell me there is not a tape of him and Teddy getting ripped. Ripped to the point that would have made Otis from Mayberry blush.

Iran-Contra - Let's look back see how a president, who may have been incapacitated, avoids troubles. As his minions sell dangerous weapons to Iran. Totally going against Rapping Ronnies whole "we do not negotiate with terrorist" mantra .

The Wonderful World of Watergate - See how the Constitution is supposed to work, and that a power crazy president who breaks the law was brought to justice. Wait that might anger people if they realize that what our Fearless Leader, who not even qualified to be Assistant Manager at a Stuckey's, has committed even more brazen violations of the Constitution.

This Old House 'The K Street Addition' - Bob Villa and Jack Abramoff look at how to renovate PAC's, Lobbyist and other Beltway Cronies. So they can graft like new.

Senate Hearing Bloops, Bleeps and Blunders - See all the stuff that never saw the light of day.

Legislative Buzzer beaters - You will witness the Congress work hard and pass important legislations just as the session about to close. See all the pork barreling action you crave. See how bridges to nowhere and $800 hammers are attach themselves like big ugly smelly barnacles.

Who needs the Improve - enjoy hours of fun, as you hear the comic styling of "B-1" Bob Dornan, Jessie Helms and Strom "I used to hang with Jeff Davis" Thurmond.

Fabulous Filibusters - See people talk and talk and talk and talk.

From across the Pond - For those who how are fans of the British Parliament you will get hours of the best back bench hazing from the House of Commons.

And for after dark - "The Clarence Thomas Confirmation Hearings" the unrated version.

Now who is with me.

As Head groundskeeper here at Bushwood, I would like to apologize for some of the entries that look a bit mangy. The computer I have the greatest access to, and blog from has some issues. I have to e-mail them to Blogger. Why? Because for some reason the person before me jacked up this machine and caused is to react to Blogger and almost everything else like it has Bell's Palsy. So the text looks funny and some pages it will not format right. So, I spend like 5 minutes scrolling down to see the text on a page. The settings for display are of no help. My options are large, larger for the blind, which would make this problem even worse. Thanks to the screwed up visuals, I can get in to Editing/Posting area, but I can not type anything in (Maybe for the reading public that for the best). So I have to type it up on Word, copy it to Yahoo and mail it to Blogger. Come on there were less moves in the 16th game of the World Chess Championships when Kasparov beat Karpov. Little known fact: Karpov lost but his late Bishop to Knight 4 and brilliant use of the Pozen Defense, was enough for the underdog to cover the 4 1/2 piece spread. Vegas took a bath that weekend.

Today I am at another PC, so this will hopefully be better, just the same lovable writing gaffes you have grown to love. But now with 73% less Yahoo ads.

Please enjoy "The Blair Warner is a Bitch Project".

Which Gilded Age President would be the best fit for a TV-Sitcom?

Rutherford B. Hayes

James Garfield

Chester A. (I have got bitchen mutton chops) Arthur

Grover Cleveland

Benjamin Harrison

Grover Cleveland Version 2.0

William McKinley

My choice would have been both Grover Cleveland's. But Mr. Boski what do you mean both Grover Cleveland's? Well the history books list him as the only non-consecutive termed president. But in actuality, Jules Verne cloned him. Mr. Verne cloned Grover because of a two-week opium bender with Thomas Nast and P.T. Barnum. Nast and Barnum had been berating Verne that he was a hack and shooting a cannon at the moon was "dumber than Napoleon the III". So he vowed to show them and show them he did. He created a fantastic cloning machine and cloned Mr. Cleveland as he was finishing up as the governor of New York and was embarking on his presidential campaign. The machine was only 98% ready, which lead to the copy that had an overactive shenanigan gland (that was according to leading phrenologists of the time). But sadly Verne's had some serious DT's coming down from the opium along with giant vultures dispatched by thHapsburggs destroyed the machine and any hope of fixing GC 2.0. Oh the mischief this caused. This was the basis of Verne's book "The Will of an Eccentric".

Another little know fact about this absolutely true nugget of American history was that Grover Cleveland 2.0, cost Grover Cleveland the 1888 election. This was achieved by 2.0's offending enough Ohioans with his drunken two-fisted tirades through the state, and his constant replacing the B in Buckeye with an F when talking about the Buckeye State. Grover Cleveland the Orginal, finally was able to corral 2.0 and end his reign of terror. In an little know 1892 duel, 2.0 was wounded from a derringer shot from Grover the Original's facial hair. Wounded and ashamed, 2.0 then fled to Portugal. Where he then raised a cat army that was poised to challenge the balance of power in Europe. Sadly, when 2.0 was ready to pounce upon Eurpoe, it all came to a tragic end. In 1908, he made the mistake of wearing a general's uniform made entirely out of tuna. His army then ate him. The cat army was not heard from again until the 1928 Olympic Games when they tried to enter as the independent state of Hairballistan.

As you can see that this has all the makings of a hit show on the WB with Chad Michael Murray. Who is with me?

Well I did say I was going to do this but it's going to be half assed, like most of what you find here. Well what about 2005? It was the best of times and it was the so - so of times (That was Dickens first attempt. Well I will say seeing the White Sox finally grab the brass ring was the tops. While not being employed full time for anyone was a refreshing kick in the nuts, that and parts of HFH trip to Kauai.

So where to begin.

Blogging -

Good

- I think I have improved the blogging. I have tried to take out the Victor Hugo long- wilderness.

- Meeting some awesome bloggers for drinks in L.A.

Bad

- I am still the one writing it. I am trying to find someone with better writing chops and life experiences than myself. It will really help get this blog off the ground. Thank god, I do not have to handwrite this. Trust me, my penmanship looks like a seismic graph and it constantly at 3.2 tp 3.4 on the Ricther Scale.

Travel - I actually made a couple of trips out of the Coastal Table in 2005.

San Diego for the BH birthday, enjoyed great Mexican Food and drink, while staying at the worst LaQuinta Inn, in America.

Atlanta - A short trip to the "dirty south" for a HFH meeting. It was my first "business trip" from Kenner. Drank Coke from it's natural spring and was almost eaten by a polar bear.

Kauai - 10 days in a garden paradise building homes, meeting some fantastic people and
seeing spectacular sites. But it came at a price. Some of our group, fantastic great people,
but there were some who I wish never to see again. If you ever speak to me in person I
could tell you more.

Las Vegas - the BH's birthday gift to me that was so awesome it finishes a respectable second to the Sox winning it all this year.

2006 - It will be a return engagement to Northern Ireland with a side trip to Dublin for HFH. Then when we are done a couple of days in London.

Music/TV/Movies

Bad

- Lost all the music I had stol . . . er procured thanks to a crapy hard drive from Fry's.

- The number of entertainment shows is still growing.

- Ryan Seacrest still walks the earth.

- NBC's bastardization of the Office, what you didn't screw the pooch enough on Coupling?

- The bitter end of Arrested Development - which was a more real look at the OC than the OC.

The Bad that will not apologize for

Andy Milanokis - I am sorry everyone, but I love it even though everyone hates it. Okay begging your mocking.

Good

- I-pod - I know understand.

- Recovery of some of the lost music. Thanks to the Red Head IT man.

- BBC America for another year of bringing me great programs. Wire In the Blood, Waking the Dead, Little Britain, The Night Detective and most importantly The Mighty Boosh.

- Snoop Dogg in concert, Yes I said that. Love him or hate him. He puts on a show. He was the last act Summer Jam and the man played for over 2 hours with a full band and shit load of special guest.

LCD Soundsystem - Saw them at the Mouse of Blues for free and they were great.

(Look, I am all over the board musically so please bear with me.)

The World and the dumb bastards running it.

I do not think I could have a good section as long as Enos is still president.

Sports

Good

The Ice Cream Fantastic Journey of the White Sox

UCLA Football - hopefully we will actually be able to saty within 35 of USC.

Did I mention the White Sox

Mike Shanahan's greatest coaching job - Look Jake Plummer threw 7 Int's all year. He made the Cleveland Boatlift work. He nearly had 2 1,00 yard rushers and he the rookie DB's have played way above expectations. Give Coach of the Year to Lovie Smith, but give Shanahan the Nobel. Jake Plummer only 7 Ints.

Getting Hockey back

Northern Ireland beating England in Belfast for the first time in 78 years

I finally won a NCAA pool

Saw Vince Young go crazy and show that he was a man amongst boys as he beat, Michigan. Okay I was there a year early, but a great game anyway.

Bad

The Broncos getting the bejezus beaten out of them by the Colts.

The Broncos select "Maurice Clarett"

The loss of Indoor Lacrosse. Yes another one of my vices.

UCLA getting the wrong end of a broom handle in an uncomfortable place by USC.

Ireland not making the World Cup

Well kids that is all I have for you on the year that was. Hopefully 2006 will be year of better blogging.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: After 2 failed drug tests Englebert Humperdink was disqualified and the Mandrel Sisters Family New Year and Ultimate Fighting Championship was won by Charo.

It was 85 degrees today. Sorry they made me work again today. Stupid job.

I am sorry good people, but I did promise you something and now I have not delivered. Well in George Bush's American that makes me a hero, but here with the good people of Bloggy Town it means I am a bum. I am working on it, but sadly I have made the mistake of actually trying to get work done at work. I know I am shocked as much as you are.

It’s January and you know what that means. It’s John Fucenda Appreciation Month. That time when the Super Bowl movies are rolled out and played over and over again. I should know I have spent about 12% of my waking hours watching them. (The only ones I will not watch are XXI, XXII and XXIV. Those are snuff films to me and I will not condone that behavior.) Now if this info had been on the SAT’s, I would have been an Oxford and a Fullbright scholar, sadly they never put anything good on the SAT’s.

But yours truly is still hard trying to get back into a regular blogging pattern. I swear. Oh look they are playing the highlights of Super Bowl VIII. Got to go.
