I have been loading up the old I-pod with stuff off CD's I made before the Day the Stolen Music died. I still get tear over that. Do you know how much work I put into stealing that music. But I was looking at the disks and I just wonder about my mental state.

I am no fan of Fidel Castro and his track record, but I think he missed a golden comedy opportunity when he put his brother Raul in charge. I think he should have let Elian Gonzalez' be in charge. Oh wouldn't that have been a couple days of news nuttiness.
Just throwing it out there.
While I am throwing things out, I know that the government has "plan" if Cuba should have a political breakdown after Castro. I am curious to know what Major league Baseball plan is. I have a feeling that there are at least 16 teams with boats, planes and commandos ready at a moments notice, to find hard throwing left handers, or great middle infielders.
Remember folks here at the Blog of Fun we try to examine the items and reflect on their chortle political ramifications.
I would have something for you but I have been busy today and also tired. Team Boski was awoken at 4:30 AM this morning by our stalker:
I know he looks terrifying. You should see him try to bludgeon someone with his adorableness. It is our neighbor's cat who has made himself at home in our yard and tries to make himself at home in our house.
Even though he woke us up, I can't be mad at him. He is a great cat. I never seen a cat who loves being around people. But I do worry that one day I am going to be in my cube and he is going to show up.
I do wish they would pay me for blogging. I am doing as good of a job with this blog as Haliburton does with the money it gets and you could get me so much cheaper.
Been very busy with work today, so I do not have much of anything.
Sorry I had just heard a Neil Young song. The weekend was great, well except for the ants and Bobby Jenks channeling Billy Koch on Sunday.
Friday night had a wonderful evening. The wife and I saw Clerks and really enjoyed it. But then I enjoyed Mallrats so my taste is up for debate. After the film we stepped out into the mugginess of the night and worked to avoid all the teens with too much disposable income getting in my way. We then enjoyed a pleasant dinner a Wahoo's well almost pleasant. The young child sitting next to us felt like hitting some ear piercing octaves. I enjoyed a nice meal while trying to see if I could see This man and his wife enjoying their night at Fenway. Then I find out that Sox actually got off the mat and won a game they had no business winning thanks to Ross GLLLOOOOAAADDD!
Saturday enjoyed a nice restful day around the compound and then we took in The Rollins Band and X and they kicked ass. The only problem I had is with my stupid goddamn city. Oh no one can play after 10:30 at the amphitheater, but the fair can go on till midnight with all of it's noise. I know who is and is not getting my vote. There are at least four mfer's not getting my vote. You know who you are you reactionary, xenophobic, homophobic, Habitat for Humanity hating crapballs. But there was at least one city council member there and it is good to see an elected official rocking to Henry Rollins. But they slipped out before the wife and I could bitch about X having to end early. I did not get Fourth of July and Burning House of Love.
Henry did not disappoint, I wish I could be 1/100 as cool as Henry and 1/100 a ripped as the dude. This man could go out do a set and then go back stage and throw up 315 about 15 times. Let's say California would have been more than covered for power if it was hooked up to Henry than the power grid.
X did a great set. You forget how many of their song you remember. They sounded good, as for their looks. I am going to say that Exene Cervenka looked like she has done some hard living. She looked more like Eileen Brennen.
Sunday spent the day checking out a farmers market that could have been held in a phone booth, fighting ants, cursing the Sox blowing a game in the 9th, and reading. The ants have decided to try to storm the house. I ant that the ants can't take a page from the grasshopper and just be lazy and stop trying to find new ways into the house. The hot weather and the work that was done in the yard have riled them up. As for the yards, they look a lot better now and it is worth having the ants riled up for it. We got someone to come out and help sheer our shame into a more manageable situation.
One last note on the Fair. It ended Sunday with a touching ceremony. The carneys extinguished the Carney flame. Think of the Olympics, but it just a grease fire behind the funnel cake shack. They extinguished it by using a hobo to beat the flames out. It brought a tear to everyone's eye. I think it may been due to the fumes coming off the hobo. But the Fair has ended and now things can go back to being quiet in the CM. Well at least till Arbor Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I am sorry I do not know where that came from.
So I can say it was a nice weekend
When my wife says, "Hey did you hear about the 103 inch plasma screen TV?"
My answer is, "well, it looks like I have been praying to the right god after all."
Should I sit on the curb right now and wait for that bus going to hell or wait just a little bit?
After world domination let's see what we have:
Making sacrifices to the appropriate deities to help the Sox get out of there hole - Apparently they have been working on a time machine which has been used to make the oppositions great team of the past appear and shame the White Sox. This just in the 1970 Baltimore O's. Coming soon, the 27 Yanks. Oh joy!
A movie - I do not know which one at the moment but in about an hour I will know. But no matter what 2 hours in AC can't be that bad.
X and the Rollins Band - That should be good times at the O.C. Fair. Which mercifully will end very soon.
Napping - Going to see what is new with napping technology and techniques Sunday.
and finally
reenact the battle of the 2nd Bull Run on my neighbor's lawn using a go-kart and about 76 chimps. Should be a good time.
To me, finding this is tantamount to find the fabeled El Dorado.
I have been looking for this forever. Every time I watch the VH1 Classic I have been praying to see this again.
I think I may have startled my fellow office workers when I yelled “yes!”. But hey it has been about 20 years since I have last since this.
The video is cheesy, but it is the nice 80's kind of cheese. Man I love this song. You cannot help but be a better mood after listening to this. If you don't then you have are incapable of human emotions. Even robots would look at you as cold and unfeeling.
Man this takes me back to listening to this on a tape while playing Hardball on the old Apple IIe.
I may have a problem. HR is asking me to come up and see them. I think it may be something about pogoing too much in my cube. Well I must adjust my skinny tie and see what the "man" wants.
Already I have watch/listened to it about 10 times already since I found it. Damn, I am a spaz.
Thank you YouTube, Burning Sensation (I thank you for blowing out all your awesome on this song. Thus sacrificing any hopes of a long career. But this bit of awesome is appreciated greatly.) Also thanks to the guy who put this on you tube.
Well that was a waste.
"Mr. Boski we have looked at your resume and we think that it would be better if you only send you out for temp to hire positions and not full time. Employers will shy away from your resume since you have not been settled anywhere."
You call me. Have me come down, and lose out on two and half hours of pay, just so I can hear this.
Crap-a-doodle-do.
If I wanted to waste two to three hours and feel empty and frustrated and a little sweaty, I would have watched the White Sox. Great job guys, great freaking job.
Chad Vader - Day Shift Manager (episode 1)
Kudos again YouTube, kudos to you.
Your working class-less hero has another interview today. Okay who am I kidding, I have to go to an agency and apply with them, just to have a shot at a job. Since the position is full time and near my home I will take a shot at it. But I have to sneak out of the office, change into my suit, which is stashed in my car which will be nice and warm by this afternoon. Which I really need. I don't sweat enough at interview. Drive about 30 minutes and then spend the next two hours happily filling out an application and taking computer skills test for the millionth time. They never give you the test for Solitare, man I would kick ass. All of it for just 10 minutes with the recruiter and a thanks for coming out.
Why do I do it?
Maybe just maybe I will find something that I enjoy, or hell tolerate. I know you all may think I am a slacker. I might, also I think I have the attention span of lettuce. But I do work hard, it is just tough to stay motivated. I want to find a job that I could enjoy. But part of me is at the point where I may never be happy in an office and that I happy to enjoy my free time. I might be someone who will be happy to work to make money to do the things I want to do. Things like my Habitat trips and so on and so on. The more and more I think about it, maybe I should try to make a living betting football. Hmmmmmm, interesting, wait I have looked at some of my picks I have made. It may not be the best idea.
I know I should not complain, me and the wife are doing alright. We have a house to live in, employment and our health (even though we do not have any health coverage, oh there's that other pesky reason to find a full time job), but I just needed to whine like Bill O'Reilly for a moment.
So today, I have to get "home" for "plumbing situation" this afternoon. I hate having to lie to my current handlers, who I will say are very nice and I would not mind if they asked me to hire on. I would like that in fact. If they were going to keep paying me what they are.
The lying made me think that I love how employers who you interview with for look at you funny if you can't move heaven and earth to make an appointment in the middle of the day, drive 30 minutes, in the middle of the week. Hey I understand it's not easy, people do not like to stick around at their office till 8 to ask someone where they see themselves in 5 years. I also always found it funny that employers love your resourcefulness to get to an interview, but the whole time you are giving the finger to an employer that you most likely will need a reference from. On top of that they look at you strange if you have the time to interview at moments notice because you do not have a job. Well that is my experience, maybe the look at me like that because of the sweating and because of my grill.
A spot of good news from the North.
So far this year has been a quiet during the marching season.
Which to me says that there is hope. Hope that long bitter conflicts could be resolved without one side trying to annihilate the other, which usually end up with both sides losing.
You hear that Mideast!
Hey Pakistan, India you listening.
Sure the process is not perfect and is never easy. The solution may not satisfy everyone. But if there is a will, then there is a chance of success.
For Northern Ireland they are still a ways from having the peace walls come down, but it is closer than it has been in a while.
But things can still get f'ed up by assholes like Ian Paisdouche and "paramilitaries" who hide behind politics (on both sides) to cover for their criminal thugasity (yes, it is made up).
Nothing makes a Sunday afternoon like watching the tail end of a couple car pile up. Where you had a couple SUV's pointing the wrong way, lots of tire smoke, clueless people trying to weave through and a fat guy vomiting on the side of the road. It was like a Brueghel piece.
or something that this guy painted.
I have realized that my blog does age better.
That is in thanks to finding and trying to change all the errors.
Thankfully this blog is only 20% of my grade. If it was more than I would be held back.
Because he or she was definitely working overtime this weekend.
It was over the century make all weekend, and the best part was the lovely humidity. Again I have to say, I live in a arid location, where thunderstorms and heat usually to not meet. If I going to have to live with weather from other parts of the country. Parts I do not live in. Then my house payments should be adjusted. I think I should paying about what I should pay for my house if it where in South Carolina, so I am thinking at least half.
Saturday did my time at the fair. I walked over, which even though it was less than a mile was not the best idea at that time of the day. It was what the Ancient Greeks would say, "Damn Ass hot". I was sweating like Rush at the airport. After my trek across the desert, I got settled in to the booth. Nice little both with HFH stuff not bad except for one thing. One of the people who was manning the booth was asshat. Why would you say that Matt? Well, I had to listen to him spew something morbidly moronic. Hey it was nice that he was there to help, but he was there because his wife, who had hooked him in. But that good will of helping out ended when I heard him say, "that Jimmy Carter was the worst president we have ever had. What he did in office was treasonous." WTF! Seriously, asshole did you just say that? And did you just say that to someone who was asking information about Habitat? I should have kicked the crap out of your old bald, sorry ass. To make it worse you added this gem. "Carter was worse than, that Confederate General from the Civil War, who was President. You know Grant something." Come on assham! You look old enough to have been around for the Civil War. I may chalk this up to a combo of your radical right view and being senile, but Grant was a Union general!!!! Look I not saying that Carter had the greatest presidency, even though I would like him at the helm right now to try his hand at the Mideast. But how can you say what you said with Bush in the White House. Bush is making my boy Grant look like Jefferson Freaking Jefferson. So you, and your Fox watching fishing buddies can suck it.
Thankfully he left shortly after that.
The wife arrived and we and one other person manned the booth. Now it's about 102 maybe 103 outside and fair ground is on black top so you could make it about 115 to 120 I would make a guess. The inside was holding at a nice 80 degrees with a couple of cool spots. You could tell where those were in the building. It was any space were you say someone stop aburptly stop there zombie like march. Sadly I had to venture out to the car. I had to put the parking pass in it. I was not going to make my wife go out into that. So I walked out and proceeded to spend about 25 minutes trying to find the car. Since I messed up my wife's instructions so high temperature hilarity ensued as I searched for the car. Let me say that I have not be that hot and miserable since I made the mistake to walking from the Colorado Belle to the Gold Nugget in Laughlin when it was 124. After finding the car in a route that was shorter than Magellan's travels, by only a couple of miles. I made it back into the booth where I sat and tried to recover from the roasting. Our shift was only till four, or so we thought. Found out they needed someone top stay. Which would have been nice, if they had asked. But thankfully someone came and relieved us at 6:00 PM. We then ventured to the Fair which was not surprisingly was not too crowded. It was a good time to get food since no more wanted to eat anything hot. In fact, I think I saw someone trying to get on a grill where they were doing corn on since it was bit cooler. Since I was only partly uncomfortable, I grabbed dinner. It was hot to the point that people where not even getting the deep fried beer, on a stick. We walked around looking at the animals in the pens and the animals walking around the fair. Man I did feel better about myself. After our stroll around we caught the lighting show that was going on. Also since night fell the crowds showed up. We drove down to the shore to catch the tail end of the lighting show and then went home to our 85 degree sweatlodge to finish our visionquest.
Sunday:
We ran some errands for the house
Got a gift to my sisters birthday
Spent sometime with some friends and their kids, complaining about the heat
Finally saw the White Sox not soil themselves
BBQ for the family at my Mom's which was a good time, other than the heat by the grill and the plate sized black widow who was asking for his burger to be medium well.
So as you can see a busy and warm weekend.
This week is done. Off to roast in Costa Mesa. Tomorrow I become what I fear, but for a good cause. I have to work at the O.C. Fair sitting at the Habitat Booth. Does this technically make me a carney? Well looking at my resume it could not hurt to list that.
After that just spending some time with family grilling on Sunday. So it should be a enjoyable sun-stroke filled weekend.
having the Tigers kick us squaw in the nuts.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While I am on baseball, what is up the Shea Hillenbrad?
Today may be a breakthrough for me. I am going to admit something to all of you, so please be prepared to handle my truth. . . .
(Drum roll please)
If you know me that is a big thing. I am just shocked it did not end up on YouTube.
I do not hate fruit, I love fruit. Only if that fruit has been severely beaten about by a blender. So I am cool with smoothes, but won't eat an apple, or even a cherry on a desert. I love the flavor but I hate the texture. I know fruit is wonderful and it adds to so many things, but I could never get over the texture of it. Even if it is baked. As someone who supports pie rights, this really undercuts me when I am verbally battling with a Caker's (one's who only believes only in cake and not pie). When they find out I do not eat fruit, oh they cut me to the quick.
I not the only one from the Boski clan who feels the same, one of my sisters is the same way. So I was not totally alone in being an outcast.
My wife was shocked when I IM'd her about. Here are the actual transcripts.
ME: Hon, are you sitting?
Mrs. Boski: yes
Mrs Boski: but now I'm scared
Me: I am actually trying to eat fruit.
Me: And it is not blended. Have we reached the end of days?
Mrs. Boski: AHHHHHH!!!!!! MY EYES ARE BLEEDING FROM WHAT I'M READING ON THE SCREEN!!!
So today, I sat at my desk and tried some watermelon, cantaloupe, some honey dew, and a strawberry. Which my wife did warn me that it might be sour. Which brought me back to a childhood memory of watching the after-school special about "The Boy Who Ate a Sour Strawberry", I think it started Ralph Maccho, Ted Nuggent and Ruth Buzzi. So seeing that freaked the hell out me and lead me down the path of disliking fruit.
I do not know how to break this to my family. My mom is still in shock that I wear jeans. I had about period of my life where I would have rather been shot, then wear jeans. That period lasted from 3rd grade till I graduated college. So even after ten years she still brings it up from time to time. But then, I think at time my family still think I am high school. Some of my family still think I dine at AM/PM.
But today was monumental. I still have a long ways to go, but I am facing my problem and tackling it head on. Maybe, just maybe, one day I will actually learn to like lettuce. Probably not, but you never know.
So there was another look into the strange world of Boski. A little place where retarded and ridiculous meet at an intersection called retardulous.
The state of Arkansas to pardon Keith Richards, after 31 years? Doesn't he have drugs in his system older than that.
Oh the irony. Hey Mr. Kangaroo if you were to pick a place were you might get some sympathy for your flight. Since you have been locked up like a prisoner, and shipped to a far away land. You are doing it in a place that the people would understand Mr. Kangaroo.
Not fast enough. I want a flat screen for a nickel damn it.
I love London, but I do not think I would want to be there when it is around 100. When you look at Thames, and think it does not look too bad. Then it is way too hot. I can only shutter to think of the stank coming from the Underground.
Hey kids your tax dollars at work. If I only knew I could get me an I-pod, some computers and other goodies. I would have taken a government job awhile ago. It is good to see that when there are those who are in dire need, that there are those out there who are working hard. Hard to cheat and stealing
Here are my favs out of this:
- More than 2,000 sets of dog booties, costing $68,442, that have sat unused in storage since emergency responders decided they were not suited for canines assisting in Gulf Coast recovery efforts.
- Three portable shower units for $71,170 from a contractor who investigators said over-charged the government. Customs and Border Protection agents could have gotten similar showers for nearly a third of the price, and faster.
- 12 Apple iPod Nanos and 42 iPod Shuffles, worth $7,000, for
Secret Service "training and data storage." Because the Shuffles cost less than $300, the Secret Service said they were not required to track them to ensure they were used properly. - 37 black Helly Hansen designer rain jackets, costing nearly $2,500, for use in a firing range that the Customs and Border Protection purchaser later acknowledged shuts down when it's raining.
- Conference and hotel rooms at a golf and tennis resort at St. Simons Island in Georgia, worth $2,395, for training 32 newly hired attorneys when they could have used a nearby federal law enforcement training center.
- A beer brewing kit and ingredients for more than $1,000 for a Coast Guard official to brew alcohol while on duty as a social organizer for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. "The estimated price for a six-pack of USCG beer was $12," the investigators noted, adding: "Given that the six-pack cost of most beers is far less than $12, it is difficult to demonstrate that the Academy is achieving cost savings by brewing its own beer."
- Investigators also noted that Customs and Border Protection wasted up to $464,586 by buying meals-ready-to-eat over the Internet instead of contracting through the
Pentagon, as is standard procedure. And they found that the Federal Emergency Management Agency cannot locate 107 laptops, 22 printers and two GPS units worth $170,000. FEMA also cannot find 12 of 20 boats the agency bought for $208,000.
What is next the equipment guy is named director of scouting. What they hell is going on?Someone please take the Islanders out of their misery. I used to hate them with a passion, but now it is just sad.
Hey Barry maybe you take a cruise over to Alcatraz and visit Capone's old cell, since the both of you may be busted for tax evasion. Sadly, this shows the IRS has a purpose. Hey I am never happy about paying taxes either, but it seems that is the only way people ever get caught.
Never mess with the "Man's" money.
Note to Mr. Anderson, I know you were Barry's connection ....er personaltrainerr. You know that if you go down for Barry, that "squat thrust" will have a new and painful meaning. Just wanted to let you know.
Maybe, just maybe this can throw Pat back into rehab. Because I need a revival of this site.
So let me get this straight. When 70% of country support this. Something that could lead to break through's that could affect million, maybe billions (I know that a big step, but we will never know if we don't try). That this is the time you decide that you need to use your first veto after 5 plus years. You do not want this nation to cross a "moral boundary". Hey assclam then what do you say of your adventure in Iraq. So do not give me that "moral boundary" crap. You have done more than your share of crossing that boundry yourself.
Man, I sit down at times and wonder is the president really this dumb? After reading this it makes me think yes, yes he is. (Thanks to the LA Times)
I have come back off the ledge, for the moment, thanks to the Sox.
Mr. Garland, thank you for showing up and reminding us that you won 18 games last year. And thank you Paulie for the 2 dingers. That makes up for your rally killing DP on Sunday.
Now gentlemen, please go out there again this evening and win.
That is all.
Thankfully I only have about a half an hour to ramble so I will be quick. I could be here all night raging about Alfred E. Douchebag. Next time there is a meeting of the most powerful states in the world can we send someone who is competent, hey I will even take someone of an opposing view point just as long as the person can speak. I swear they must all be laughing when George leaves the room. Which makes me ask the question, do you think the members of the G-8 ask Bush to go find the ID10T box. George, you are making Mr. Putin look like David fucking Chapplle. Also George when you hanging with a former KGB man, there is always a mic on. So wake the fuck up.
I do not know what is scarier these days?
That we have a dangerous situation in the MidEast and he's the one supposedly running the show.
or
That there are wack jobs who think we need to step up fighting, and that the World War III has begun. Yeah hey we have done such a great job in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Media Matters)
I must stop or I am going to break something.
I promise you the Boski Reader that I will return the moronic childish tripe that you are use to.
That what I can hear Tiger fans saying right now. This was not the best time to lose 5 of 6 while the Tigers get to beat on the Sub-Mariners and Failing Constitutional monarchs. Tonight the Sox head to the Motor city to fight not only to stay within hailing distance, but now their wild card lives.
So Ozzie, please help us getting on the ledge supporters and right this ship. Thanks for sending Cliff to Puppy Lake, it was about time.
Go Sox. Your mayor implores you.
A Friday has come and gone and I have nothing for you. The news sucks, its hot and the data entry I have been doing today had not made me feel pretty. So I am going to hunker down in the Boski Bunker and try to figure out what the world needs. Right now all I have is 80's music, Carl's Jr. Crinkly fries (which were they best) and trying to get the original cast of Herman's Head back together.
Later good people.
Because again the Scrub administration is getting away with more shenanigans.
Novak: Rove Was A CIA Leak Source
I know, I should not real be surprised now since Rove will not face prosecution for outing a CIA operative, which silly me still thought was still a freaking crime!
Nope, it is a bigger crime that the New York Times reports on something that everyone knew about. What a bunch of traitors they are. Well that is what Bush and his mouth pieces tell me. Never mind that Nero . . .er Bush and the rest of lot told us that they were going to go after the "money" in his speeches after 9/11 and in the 2004 campaign. Then when New York Daily news leaks info about a plot on the Holland Tunnel, none of the those windbags are out saying this was treason. Hmm interesting.
It is this crap that makes me want to retreat deeper and deeper in to the sports pages. I know all of you know all this and that hearing this from a writer whose still is that of a drunken hobo with a tenuous grasp of the English language is not bringing new light to this. I just felt I had to get that off my chest.
(Thanks to Media Matters)
Before I go.
Hey kids coming soon to a Wal-Mart near you. A new comedy album from funny man Vladimir Putin. Vlad, how do you find the time in between destroying political opposition, a shrinking population problem, eliminating a free press, and a simmering rebelion in Chechnya to do your comedy? The KGB Krack up takes his shots at Grandpa Dick Cheney. Vlad does this mean, after you finish creating your free market version of the CCCP, will you go to Branson and open for Yakov Sminov?
I was driving to work today and I ran over someone's Von Dutch trucker hat, that was laying in the middle of the road. It made me feel very sad.
Sad, that I did not go back and run over it again, but I will learn from this and strive to do better.
HOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sound you hear is the Germans rebuilding their section of the old Iron Curtian, because they are even scared by this. (thanks to The Superficial)

Hello everyone, I hope everyone survived their weekends. Before I start a bit of troubling news. Last weekend while in Arizona I destroyed another pair of sunglasses. This makes this the 439th pair of sun glasses that I have either lost or destroyed. This time they were destroyed. The frame snapped breaking them into to. Now if I was a really cool Prussian Junker maybe I could rock the sunglass monocle look. But sadly, rocking a monocle is just not as cool as it use to be.
My weekend was alright.
Friday night I got my caught Bauhaus and Nine Inch Nails at Irvine Meadows. Nice little show, even though Bauhaus only did about 10 seconds of Bela Lagosi is Dead and then stopped. Look I understand that maybe Trent wanted to hit the stage before Tuesday, but I thought it was law that they had to play that song. Oh well I can say I have seen them in. As for Mr. NIN, he puts on an angry, but good show. Kudos to you sir, kudos.
Saturday after a day of sweating and napping at home, we went to Disneyland. A good friend of ours works there, so she got us in to catch the 50th Anniversary Fireworks before they conclude. Not too shabby. I will say that walking into the park at 5 PM just brought back the memories of many a summer slaving and slacking for at the Happy Place locted on Ball Road and Harbor. I can not beieve that this August it will be 10 years of sobriety from the mouse. Oh those were the days. Moments like falling into the jungle river. Doing the Icky Shuffle during the Fantasmic shows. Conning a fellow cast member in keeping a ride closed for a half an hour as I inpersonated a whacked out landscaper. Nearly blinding myself with a pen on a Big Thunder Mountian. Having a stunt bottle broken over my head on my last day. Oh the memories.
Sunday was a quite day of shopping and relaxing. We also enojyed watching Zidane go UFC in the Cup Final. Great idea sir, great idea. It is days like this that the internet shows its worth. That is just the tip of the iceberg (Thanks YTMND.com) I was also sweating out. . . er enjoying the White Sox salvage a win to avoid a totally lost weekend. They had to win it in 19th or Cliff Politte would have gone out in the 20th and served up at least 3 long balls. Again it was Tadahero to the rescue, along with Dye (huge HR in the 9th and a clutch 2B) and McCarthy(4 plus scoreless). Nice jobs gents, we needed. Now as we look to the 2nd half we need to keep pushing to stay with in hailing distance of the Kitty's. It is not going to be an easy second half.
The Hof is running amok.
I see you are trying to get your street cred up before your new rap joint drops. So kudos to you for getting all gangsta all up in the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, by getting "steaming drunk". (thanks to the Superficial).
After I finished reading this, all I could think of the Simpson's and the Kamp Krusty Episode. When they nearly toss Krusty for taunting Ivan Lendl. In fact, I think they may have used the same announcement to the Hof before slapping the bracelets on him,
"Will the harlequin in the third row please keep his voice down!"
What is next Hof? Are you going to tan the words Thug Life across your stomach? Get shot at a couple of times? Or will you start a hip-hop feud with Greg Evigan.
Is everything okay Hof? I know you are making a comeback. Glad to see you are in a big film and not some German Snuff Porn. You are popping up everywhere, but I am worried. First off you acting a little over the top these day, in fact you are making William Shatner uneasy. Secondly I know you that there have been a couple things that have had to upset you:
Your publisher company Knight Ridder went belly up. Oh you are always the jokester. Thinking that by misspelling it we wouldn't know it was you.
Germany lost in the world cup. When Germany is sad, then Hof is sad, or it then invades Poland. I am not too sure. But it must hurt big guy.
The Mavs lost and we know how much you enjoyed trying to stalk. . . errrrr root Jerk Nowtzki and Mark "I have billions and all I got is a bowl cut" Cuban to a title. (thanks Deadspin)
That you have not been picked to be a panelist on The View.
So Hof, if you are in pain and you need a shoulder to cry on. Go call Ted McGinnley, because I do not want to here from you.
"Bush: Hard to read North Korea's motives" - But isn't everything hard for Mr. Bush to read if it is not a comic strip?
Now about this whole North Korea thing. I am totally against North Korea from having nukes, but I have a theory that this is all in reaction that the news has finally reach the North Korean's, that Kevin Federline has an album coming soon. If that is the case, then I completely understand Kim Jong Il's reaction. We too want to end the reign of terror that "PopoZÃo" has caused.
Hey happy birthday Mr. President. I hope this North Korea stuff will not keep you from you party at Chucky E. Cheese with Grandpa Cheney this afternoon. Speaking of birthdays, today is the Dali Llama's. I can only imagine how happy he is to share that with George. I wonder now if the Dali has cold cocked anyone for bring that up. But cheer up Mr. Llama you do share Robin's birthday. So you got that going for you.
Conflicted much - I wonder how Pope Benidizzle the XVI took to seeing the Germans lose to Italy.
What's next, Get O.J. to look for him? I mean it makes sense since he has done a great job of investigating the golf courses of America to find Nicole's killer. I can see part of the point of closing the department consolidating it since Bin Laden has done a great job outsourcing his work to others. But they really don't need it any way, he just chilling with Ken Lay in Switzerland in a mansion made of stolen Nazi gold, errrrr . . . Allegedly.
It is cold outside today. I am thinking it is only about 85.
Well that is what a weekend in Phoenix will do to you. We had a wonderful time seeing friends in the 48th state. They were wonderful host, who let us stay at their wonderful home, meet their wonderful new baby and play with their wonderful dogs. And maybe this Christmas I will get a wonderful thesaurus and use other wonderful words than wonderful.
What else did I get out of the weekend.
The English didn't fail to disappoint, and lost in a heartbreaker, again.
I love the desert. I do not want to leave the coastal table, but man I could see myself living in the desert. The wife did remind me, "sure we could afford a nice sized place out here, but just remember what it would cost to run the AC."
Mexican food is awesome.
Michael Barrett slugs A.J. back in May, A.J. returns the favor and slugs the Cubs in July.
The dry heat, it was triple digits all weekend and the humidity was around 15%. Any drier and it Steven Wright would have instantly appeared.
I have better stuff than Cliff Politte.
It looks like Kim Jong Il has gone off the reservation, again. Nothing like seeing a wacko and a halfwit with nukes trying to hash things out.
Must start planning to go out to Arizona for Spring Training.
H.R. Puffinstuff is dead. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Okay the voice of Puffencrack is dead. Another piece of my childhood gone. Another passing that needs to be brought up is this man, Thomas Arthur. He gave us the Dodger Dog. Mmmmmmmmm grilled Dodger Dog.
Rob Blake is that you?
The French not surrendering in Germany, now I have seen everything. If the French do win it all. The Germans will take back Alsace-Lorraine.
I know it may sound ghoulish, but I want a autopsy on Ken Lay. I am sorry, but this seems way to convenient. I want to make sure that it is Ken Lay. Oh I know that Ken did do some great things in Houston and for others before Enron, but because of the damage he and his cronies did it damaged multitudes more than he ever helped. And now he will not spend one day behind bars, so please forgive me for asking for the SMERSH treatment over his corpse.
Which leads me to the fact I read a book this weekend. Well I read the last 60% of this weekend. It was on the Fall of Berlin, so that is why I dropped a reference of one of Stalin's favorite departments. Which is something I have not done in a while, and it was good to actually finish something.
It is not right that the Italians are in the Finals. I know they are good, but they are not that good. Look they drew against the U.S. and they got bailed out against the Socceroos. Which was FIFA's way of saying they were sorry about '02. Which sucks a lot of ass.
I apparently drive really fast. Yesterday left Phoenix around 10 and got home about 4:45 PM. With two gas stops and stop to shop in Cabazon.
I go me some shoes, so what about it?
People love to blow shit up in my neighborhood. Our hamlet allows for fireworks. But to many in my hosing track that means, "Enough of the safe and sane shit. It is time to get dumb and dangerous." So it people were trying their best to make it sound like Tikrit on a Sunday evening. Thankfully the Boski ranch did not take any fire. We did walk around to see the pyro's in action which was fun.
So that is all I have for now. Thank you for allowing me to toss this blog pasta on virtual wall. Even though it still looks under done and underwhelming
Sox win, Sox win.
Take that Cubs.
A great way to start off the weekend. Tomorrow early, we are packing up the car and driving out to Phoenix to visit some friends who we have not seen in forever. So that should be good time for all.
Sneak preview the all-new Yahoo.com. It's not radically different. Just radically better.
Shit Jesus people!
What is with all of you. I am trying to get work done today. I know, I know, go call the fucking papers. Why is everyone trying to get in my way. Just give me clear instructions on a project, a space to work, and I will get it done.
How in the hell do you expect to have me do any work done if you keep having me fucking moving me from desk to desk, and office to office. I really love coming back to my desk to find a meeting going on around it and that I can't really get into my desk, so I can get the stuff I need. I know I am the f'ing plankton on this food chain, but you pay me to work and not because I do a great Martin Van Buren impersonation, or that I am Yatzee dynamo.
Then I should have not wore my "Please Treat Me Like fucking AmericaWest Airlines Luggage" shirt today. Thankfully I left the "Hit me I am a pinata" shirt at home.
I wished.
Oh one day squidy, we will continue our battle. Don't think that I have forgotten about what happened in Oslo four years ago. Never, ever send an ABBA tribute band to do your dirty work.
Brazil vs Ghana this one was a battle. Ghana was in this all the way up to the fifth minute. At which point Ronaldo decided to remind everyone that before Ronaldinho, there was him. I should actually be fair, as strange as this sounds this was a close 3-0 game. Ghana did everything it could except put one in the net. Until Brazil eventually chewed them up and spit them out.
In the other match France/Spain. Otherwise know as, "We Got Our Asses Kicked at Sea by England Bowl" or "Formal Papist Superpowers Bowl". Spain was sunk like it's Galleons in the Caribbean. Thanks to the work of the dread pirate Zidane. The man will be 80 and still knocking in goals. Today, it was his free kick that found Vieria for the go ahead goal. Then he ended the scoring with a run, in which he beat the goalie like a "rented mule".
So the Saturday will be a rematch of the 98 Finals. Even though it goes against my initial pick. Brazil beats the Blues in a wide open 4-2 battle.
The weather sucks. Southern California is an arid region, so this humidity crap is not acceptable. Yesterday was a nice shade of ass. When I did venture outside the sun had the look it has when there is a fire. No it was just a nice film of humid hazy crap in the sky. Today is a cooler, but still a fugly kind of blah.
Seeing this and the weather on the east coast, and Greenland working its way to becoming green. You have to be on some serious denial crack if you think that there no such thing as Global Warming.
I should have gotten the Hybrid. No, I wanted fold down seats. Damn it, I am such an ass.
But then me typing that means I am letting Al-Gore-adia and the terrorists win. I might as well put down my copy of the New York times and turn myself in to Fox Security.
It seemed just like yesterday I had drunk the Kool-Aid and was a fill fledged member of the Cult of Bo Jackson. Damn, wish I had my Bo Jackson Nike shirts.
God bless you You Tube.
Very warm.
Okay there was more to it than that, but not too much more.
Saturday spent the day watching the German's violate Swedish neutrality and part of the Mexico/Argentina. I was impressed with the Mexico they stood toe to toe.
Hair cut - now I look more respectable like.
BBQ'ing Corn- When you get some good organic sweet corn and put on some fire on it. Good things happen.
Sunday
Still very warm
Watch the English labor into the next round. Other than Beckham's free kick, most of the game was like this:
And if Cole does not make the deflection early, the British fans would have been hurling as well. Well most probably did, but that was from the lager.
Hey Sven I know you are a short timer, but maybe just maybe you give Rooney some help upfront. It could help you stick around. Also where was Scarecrow Peter Crouch?
Yard work - Did some, not because I wanted to. It's a part of community service sentence for referencing Gene Rayburn too many times with in city limits, long story.
Then watched the "We Used to Have Bitchin Sea Empires Way Back in the Day Bowl". I was hoping for a great match, but we got a sorry slap fight. Hey Mr. Referee why did you go all Hallmark on everyone. Seriously, thanks for turning the game into a Benny Hill Sketch. But the Portuguese are through to meet England. I think Portugal will using a couple members of the training staff to fill in.
I look at the England/Portugal match and say, "the English should win, but since it is the English
they could find a horrible way to lose it.
Reading is Fundamental - To beat the wool blanket of heat, we were off the the library or liberry, I am not sure. After paying the GNP of Norway in late fees I picked up some books to read. Most of them don't even have pictures. Shows that I got some of that thar lernin in me head.
Free baseball - Watched the Sox trying to continue their torrid pace. As they came up short on their 10th in a row. I am pissed they could not win it in 13. If we were going to lose could we have done earlier. I had to miss Deadwood damn it!
I will say that I have to applaud the Southsiders. Down 9-2 going into the 8th, when Tadahero (yes I did say it, but I can not take the credit) went ape. First was a three run HR, and then a slam to go extra frames. 7 RBI's in the last two frames. Not bad. The only other thing that sucked was the Pity Kitty's won, again. Now they get the Stros for three, so they will probably sweep that as well. I think we are going to have us an old fashioned Nebraska Turtle Punching Fight on our hands. Last one to yell "gravy boat" is the loser.
Next up it's time to play the ugly team in a pretty park, the Bucs. Who are on a 10 game skid. Which means they will sweep up. That's right I still can work that negativity both sides of the plate.
Well back to the mines for more data entry fun.
Hey kids, do you want to have some chocolate with your Uncle Sal? You know your Uncle Salmonella?
I think Cadbury should have realized that their dark chocolate raw chicken bars were a bad idea.
when it come to the to the beautiful game.
I knew that we probably would have not made it two the knockout round, but other than the Italy game we look freaking lost out. I now understand what the critics of Arena were going on about. Right now you have taken this team back to the Sampson days of '98.
What do we do now?
I hope US soccer works on getting its head out of its ass. I know this country will never grasp the fever as other nations do, but we can do better than this and put a team on the pitch that can compete with the best. This country still needs to develop a striker who actually scares people. Hell we have the athletes to do it. If Lawrence Phillips could stay out of trouble I would put a jersey on him. What fullback is going to get in his way?
Larry I am glad your getting out of New York that place was going to kill you, but you could have waited a little longer to spill. But Larry, I think you could challenge this and win. Your defense is simple.
"Your honor, Isaish's my GM and I had to coach Starburry."
keep score. I have been itching to do so of late. Yes I am one of those nerds you see at a ball game keeping score.
Do you Yahoo!?
Get on board. You're invited to try the new Yahoo! Mail Beta.
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. To all the fathers out their who are being fathers, I wish you a belated fathers day.
Sunday I spent some time with my pops. Thinking about all the fathers days and all the gifts I had made or purchased for him. I cringe at the stuff that was made a school. I put the effort into those items. Sadly, I knew by the age of eight, I was an art washout. I am terrible at art, in fact I have a tough time even drawing conclusions. My thoughts also run across all of the Old Spice and Automugs I had gotten him. But when it comes down to the best gift I ever gave him was on June 20, 1993. I took him and my two brothers to a ball game, on me. Thanks to my servitude to the Walt Disney Company I had the cash. Hey, I could pay him back for all the games he took me to. Same for my brothers. I loved watching games with the old man. Talking about strategy and about players he watched growing up. Enjoying a coke and dog. In fact, I still can remember one afternoon game, him trekking all across the Big A to get me a burger. I felt bad about making him miss a couple of innings, but my pops did not care, he was at the yard enjoying a game.
I had the cash to get decent seats, but my Dad talked me into getting some outfield seats. I think my Dad had his reasons for it, which is a long story, that I may get into one day. So we sat and backed in the Sun as the White Sox beat the Angels 11-6. I saw Jorge "Taco" Bell drive hit 2 HR's and in five runs (his last multi HR game of his career).
Even though I forgot sun screen and baked for over three hours to a nice unhealthy red, it was heaven. Being their with my dad and my brothers enjoying a game on my dime. I felt like a real adult. It was something I had being waiting to do for a while. I was looking forward to doing this on a regular basis. But things just don't work out the way you want.
Even though it has been almost 13 years, I still miss him. This is a Father's Day moment that still makes me a little misty eyed.
Just a quick note. I should not forget my mom, who I could fill pages and pages of expressions of thanks. She as been a rock for all of the Boski clan. Which reminds me I need to get to work on her 70th birthday project.
Okay you have heard enough, thanks for stopping by and please enjoy the free taffy.
That was a gutty game on Saturday. Good to see that we did not wilt under pressure. The U.S. got some luck with the own goal, but they deserved to be in that game. They did not back down. Keller, stepped it up and played his ass off. I was impressed by Donovan, he made some decent runs to put pressure on Italy. I would have liked Beasley to use his speed, but then we were down to 9 men, so it was not the time for free lancing. That is the effort we need every night. Now if we can keep everyone on the pitch maybe we can work on scoring goals on our own.
That was one of most poorly officiated game I have witnessed, for both sides. Except for the Italy red card, which was a cheap shot. It was awful. This was not the game you wanted to use to try to convert "Soccer Haters". Definitely not what you would describe as the best the "beautiful game" has to offer.
Again I hope I will be wrong, but I think we will fall short to Ghana, but we have saved face in this tournament.
My Non-Temporary Temp career is sailing along so far. It has been actually nice being apart of the rat race. This should last about one more week or so.
Sadly, I have nothing else today to blog about, for all three of you out there.
Busy weekend, more termite inspectors and a trip out to the desert for Bamboo.
I hope to regale you with tales of treasure and fraught with adventure (I am talking about ham fighting the ghost of Martin Van Buren). So let us keep our fingers crossed.
Because I think I just saw a major wreck today. The little I saw of the Argentinean bludgeoning of Bosnia-Montenegro I could swear I saw baby harp seals in the crowd yelling at the Bosnia-Montenegro team to just lay down, or run away. A couple of Greenpeace boats tried to stop the slaughter in the second half, but to no avail.
The way the Argentina Was going today. I do not think if you put all of the former Yugoslavia together it would have made a difference.
Speaking of beat downs, I think the U.S. is cruising toward a major one tomorrow. Hey Eddie, why don't you worry about doing your job and less about making a dumb comment.
I would like to be optimistic but I think the Italians will really want to run it up on us. I hope I am wrong, but I don't see it.
Sorry I got to this late, but last week the wife and I heard the putrid puss that spews from that cross-dressing douche. And my wife says,
"Wow, she is such a cunt."
At that point I was shocked and horrified to hear that.
"Honey, I can not believe you said that. How could you? I do not think cunt wants to be associated with her."
I am I wrong on this one?
My apologize to anyone who is not happy with the salty language. That is the one curse word that still makes me feel that to use it you need a decoded transmission from the president, and the missile launch keys.
Now back to the Ann Coulter bashing
Shitbag, can I call you shitbag? I am still trying to fathom what you said. That the victims are enjoying that they had someone killed during 9/11. Hey Ann do feel the same about these people. Oh of course not they supported Bush. (Thanks to Should've Asked Me). Ponderus man, fucking ponderus!
Well Ann, you are a truly horrible organism or some kinf of life form, it sure in hell is not human.
Have you no shame? Well I think I know the answer.
Even your dad is ashamed of you Ann.
But on the bright side you might have a lot of fun at Poker Night. There will be a seat at the table right next to Pol Pot and Stalin. Be careful, I hear Ceaucescu and Hitler cheat.
Did I mention that this is in Hell, right?
Yes, your tortured blogger is back in the work force. Hopefully I will be employed at least through lunch. I am back working for the Hospital again, but above ground and for more money. Yeah. I could not believe they wanted me back. Hell, they must of forgotten all the office supplies I took. Just kidding, I have never done that. Come on everyone knows that office copiers are fair game right?
That loud sound you heard was Kobe falling off his couch, laughing.
Speaking of loud thuds, lets here it for Team USA getting Czech'd right in the nuts! I can already hear ESPN packing things up and canceling it's coverage. Losing a game is bad enough, but losing by three goals, you might as well get the airport now.
Good to see the Sox are scrapping again. They have been starting to win games they did last year, keep it close and bang another late inning rally. Took two of three from the Pitty Kitty's and two or three from the Tribe. If they had come back last night that would have killed the Ricky Vaughn's.
Yes it is that time again. The World Cup. Even though it is not on the highest rung of the Boski food chain, I enjoy soccer. I know you have heard me drone about the EPL, but what got me started was watching the World Cup. I remember getting hooked watching Spain '82. Everyday watching the games on Univision. Even with the games being broadcasted in Spainish I was entralled.
Watching the wacky Kuwati's, Cameroon Lions, the CCCP, and the French/West Germany epic Semi Finals. Also watching Brazil trying in vain to stop Paulo Rossi. Who was on such a hot streak the sun was sweating. It did not matter who was out there he was going to lead Italy to the cup. Which he did by beating West Germany.
But the family Boski got caught up in it because a plucky little team from Northern Ireland had found it way in. Also my grandfather had made the trek to Spain to follow them. He was a trooper, food poisoning in Barcelona could not stop him. Even thought the dream ended in the quarter-final when those stinking Frenchies beat us. But enough of that trip down memory lane lets get to the here and now and some very misguided picks on group winners Germany '06.
Group A
Germany
Poland
The host will coast through. At times looked great on O, but the D is shaky. Poles are solid and should get through.
Group B
England
Sweden
England will get everyone's hopes and lose in either a very heartbreaking or bizarre way. England fans, good news suicide prevention hotlines will be manned round the clock through the World Cup. ABBA's Army another solid but not spectacular squad
Group C
Argentina
Netherlands
I do not know if it was because I believed the hype the Four Four Two was spouting that the Argentines have the answer for Brazil. They are loaded and I think have the fire power and the D to beat anyone. (hint, bet against them). The Clock Work Orange, probably the best team not to win a cup. They had some great teams back in the 70's, but they still have good teams and you never turn your back on them.
Group D
Portugal
Mexico - barely
Portugal should have no problems getting through and they will not be caught off guard this time. Mexico has issues in net, but I think they have enough to finish ahead of Iran and Angola.
Group E
Italy
Ghana
Even with the match fixing scandal hanging over Italy and fitness of the Czechs and that we are sending our best team. We are not getting through. Italy will rally and get through and I think the Ghana will be surprise team and get out of the group. Even if we did get through the USA would get the 800 pound gorilla that is Brazil.
Group F
Brazil
Croatia
Brazil and the 3 dwarfs. It is all a fight for second and I think Croatia will eke though and then get flattened
Group G
France
South Korea
Any team with a Zidane and Henry can beat anyone. I think the French will be apart of the final four. South Korea has come a long way and will get to the knock out round. Hopefully it will be at Switzerland's expense. I hate the Swiss. Before I get angry Swiss letters it is my envy that you beat the Irish in Euro '04 qualifying and 06 World Cup qualifying. There I got it out hate me as you wish.
Group H
Spain
Ukraine
Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, please enjoy your time in the tourny.
Knockout Round
Germany beats Sweden
England beats Poland
Argentina steamrolls Mexico
Dutch upset Portugal in overtime
Italy beats the Croats as the clouds grow back home
France beats Ukraine
Brazil beat Ghana like a rug
Spain wins on a golden goal
The Quarter Finals
Argentina beats Germany 2-1 and Klinsmann is run out of town.
England plays their best match and beats the Dutch.
Brazil cruises past Spain
France clip Italy after Henry makes great second half run
Semis
It is funny how history repeats itself. But the Argentines get revenge again for the Falklands as they beat the English who lose Rooney in the first half, then lose Cole to a controversial red and lose a 2 - 1 lead in injury time and then lose in Overtime 3-2. England have chances late but are stopped by the 12th defender, the goal posts, three times.
In another classic the French are trying to reverse history by being the first group to invade Germany and win. The French win even though they had to withstand Soccer's answer to weapons of mass destruction that is Rolandinho and the rest of the Brazilian strikers.
Finals
Argentina wins without the "hand of god" 2-1 in a good but not terribly memorable match.
But then this is just the ranting of a man who has troubles with tying his shoes
Hello kids, sorry I have been away from the keyboard.
The other day I was leaving the gym and heading toward the car, then bang. I am getting jumped by a small black bird. I think he may have chirped "I got the flu hand me all your money and bits of string". Man I am getting punked by small birds, but that is not the first time I have had a run in with the avian population.
It was back in my days as a Jungle Cruise skipper. The boat was filled up and we roared toward the jungle.
"Welcome aboard my name is Boski and I will be your captain, tour guide and your cruise director for the next 8 weeks. Right now we are entering the mouth of the Irriwady River"
At this point I could here a faint noise that was quickly getting louder.
Ducks.
As the boat turned into the jungle. I looked a head and saw a group of 3 ducks flying low through the jungle. I did not think too much of it, until I noticed they were flying right at the boat, and they were not looking to veer. So right there at the Happy Place on Earth. We had an old fashioned game of chicken. Since my boat was on a track I had no options.
Then came the epic clash of man and duck. The duck in the middle and I had a meeting. It hit me square in the chest. (How about those cat like reflexes Boski?) In my molasses moving effort to avoid the duck I let out a screech of cartoon proportions and dropped to the floor. At which point I heard everyone in the boat laughing.
What the hell is going on?
I look up at the see the duck just standing up by the throttle. He just sitting there taking it in. Here I am thinking I have a dead duck and I will have some explaining to do. Nope, that Mallard was just there as if nothing happened. He shook his head and then was off. Apparently the only thing damage was my dignity. I got up and looked at the guests who were floating between laughter and surprise. So I stopped the boat,
"Folks I have no answer for what just happened."
To this day, I know me and the duck will meet again. It may be in Paris, it may be in Tangeirs, or just El Paso, but we will meet.
F'ing termites. We have to get the Boski compound tented. That will be as fun as a pocket full of gravy. The thing that really gets me is that those bastards have not paid one cent of rent.
I am not a fan, or a watcher of American Idol, but can someone tell me how in the hell did Benny Hinn win it all?
Come on take a look. Can you really tell me that they are not the same person?

This is why I don't watch this show.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekends. I will say Team Boski had a great weekend. Lets see what was achieved:
Sleeping - Some serious sleeping in was done. An assist goes to the Chill station on Sirius Radio.
Grilling - Fired up the old grill wagon and showed a couple cuts of meat and some corn who is in control.
Yard work - Amazingly I was able to go out and make the lawn look like a partial disaster instead of a total one. The backyard is another story.
Errands - Were ran with amazing precision and a dash of flair. Okay they weren't, but it sounded good.
Drive down the coast - Sunday was too nice not to head down to the shore. Drove from Newport down to San Clemente and it was magnificent. Busy, but not too busy. Need to get that down before everyone and their mothers decided that they need to get to the beach.
Hammock time - We got a one person hammock this weekend. We wanted to see if it was any good and Monday, I took it for a test run on my front porch. It was so nice relaxing in the shade with a nice breeze and some music.
A great weekend, but know I have to get back to hunting down the employment caribou. It is a craft S.O.B.
This campus has an infestation of ninja's. Just like rats, when you see one that mean there are hundreds crawling around just out of sight.
"God! Like welcome to Ninja studies 101. I am your professor or something and like we are going to work on your nunchuk skills and stuff!
It is nice to see Ninja's looking for education, it is more respectable than those clowns and their so-called colleges.
(Thanks to Fark for the article)
Whoa! I think Ted Kennedy and Boris Yelstin want to party with this guy.
Damn, I got buzzed just reading that.
What is this guy related to Dr. Johnny Fever?
I am moron. For some crack-induced reason I thought the Clips had closed out the Suns. They have not, so they still have time to choke.
Thank you, please return to your work.
I am still alive, but I did vote multiple times for the All-Star Game.
Got home last night from our weekend trip to the home of the World Series Champs.
It was an amazing weekend. A weekend that came within a botched double play from being off the freaking charts. It was almost like Ice Cube "Damn it was a Good Day"
(The photos are coming later this week.)
I really love what they have done with the Cell. It is a nice place to watch a game, but then I am Sox fan.
This weekend, was in a weird way kind of like me getting my world series ring from the club.
Here are a couple of the high points:
I really love what the Sox have done with the Cell. It is a nice place to watch a game, but then I may be very biased in my opinion.
Snapping a photo with the World Series Trophy (All I need now is the Stanley Cup and I will have the four majors)
Watching the Cubs lose Friday
dropping some coin to acquire more Sox Gear
Our wonderful host holding a bitchen tailgate on Sunday. These guys did not mess around. The scary thing is that they sad this was nothing. Come back during football. I will say that carne asada, beer and shots of Patron is the breakfast of championship 11AM. I almost had enough tequila to forget how cold it was.
Loved the throwbacks the Sox wore on Sunday. Wish the Cubs would have done the same, but then they are bastards.
Watching Tad go yard after the 15 minutes of "Hell at the Cell". The funniest thing about the brawl was a picture we took of Brian Anderson before the game. When you see it, it will make sense. Well it was nice to see Brian hitting something.
Hearing Nancy Faust on the Organ and being able to sing "Hey, Hey Goodbye" in person.
Seeing the Cubs get beat on Saturday.
The bootleg shirts. Some of the shirts would make a trucker blush. But the next time I go I am so going to get myself the "SoxSide Irish" shirt. I also should have gotten the very cliched "Ozzie is My Homeboy" Shirt
The only low points of series was seeing the Cubs win Sunday, that rubbed me as wrong a the Cubunie , I mean the Tribune the nice people who own the Cubs, running Barrrett's sucker punch on the front page.
All in all it was so amazing to be watching a game where the majority of the fans are on your side and looking up and seeing that last October was not a paint fumed induced dream.
Even without the sweep the city's Sox fans are coming out of the shadows to remind everyone that there are two teams in this town. The village is growing, from village to city state and now we are nearing the size of Luxembourg. Next up Estonia-sized White Sox Nation!
Thank you for indulging me and my ramblings about this team.
P.S. for those who think I have become a White Sox optimist. Fear not I am scared that this team has holes in the bullpen. Also this team needs to play a little more little ball. And I have some questions about what's next:
Do we deal McCarthy to get some help for the 7th and 8th, if things don't straighten out?
Will Hermanson come back?
How long to we wait on Anderson to hit?
and so on and so on.
Hell got another three feet of snow today. The Clippers are in the Conference Finals.
Things are truly going bad for this nation when Donald T. Sterling is running his team better than our president runs this country.
We have a Yankee payroll, but Royal execution.
Busy here at Castle Boskistein trying to get ready for our little trip. If the Sox can sweep the Cubs this weekend will pin the awesome meter. So packing all the White Sox garb I can pack. Sure it will mean getting up at 0500 hours to get to the airport, but to be able to take a seat that the game Friday will all be worth it.
I also found out I will be out of the unemployment game for a couple weeks. Hey I need the cash and I have been a retrobate long enough. We will see if this has an effect on the blogging. It could actually be a help.
Other notes, I obviously do not know jack about the NBA playoffs. It looks like the Spurs and the Pistons could be knocked out and the Heat all of a sudden look like a team to beat. But now typing this, it means it will all change.
Go Oilers, please, please beat the Ducks.
This morning worked out at my usual gym. The past few months I have gone to a place closer to my wife's office. The one by my wife's office has one problem. Nearly every morning they have the TV set to ABC, which is fine until 9. I can tolerate "Regis", barely, but at 10 "The View" is on and it is painful to hear Sam Cassell in drag, er I mean Star Jones rant. The TV is up just high enough where it not easy to change so I just have to suck it. Today though, the gym I attended this morning had the choke full o truthiness Fox News on. I would have changed it but they were a couple people paying attention so that plan was thwarted. So I was treated to Fox taking an even handed look at Al Gore's new movie premier. Then going to a commercial break to promote a show coming up on Global Warming, and there was Fox working to try to whip people up in to a "if you believe in global warming then you are letting the gay, tax and spend terrorists win" frenzy. I hate to say this but I would have been happier watching "The View". That is just sad.
We here at BoskiCorp are determined to bring you the best of the insane rambling from this allegedly witty and semi-urbane village idiot (this part we have confirmed).
Since quality is someone else's job here at BoskiCorp, we realize that this blog has sucked ass of late. Some of the content has been alright, but as for the execution of the blog, We at BoskiCorp are all for the execution of the author.
But since animal control refuses to pick Mr. Boski up we are just going to soldier on. Also if we at the Blog o' Fun were to let Mr. Boski go we know it would just lead him back to the sordid world Norwegian Caribou speculation. It is not a pretty place.
But changes will be implemented, plans followed, mistakes made and others will be blamed.
Thank you for your patronage.
This time next week I will be hopefully enjoying the first of a three game sweep of the White Sox over the Cubs here.
Some very wonderful people we met during the ALCS invited us back to tailgate with them for the Sunday game. So thank to my wonderful wife we are using every connection we have to make a whole weekend of it. We got tix for Saturday and Sunday and are still on the hunt for Fridays game.
It will be a weekend to bask in the afterglow of the World Series. Our new friends have also hooked us up big time with providing a place to stay, since the town is f'ing sold out because their is a hotel convention that weekend.
I just giddy, like a drunk schoolgirl.
I only care about this, because she was an El Dorado grad. Thanks to her Olympic exploits, I made the only appearance I will ever make in Sports Illustrated. Well my head is in a shot at the assembly they held for her.
I read this and all I can think that this would be the presidential version of making a sequel to Glitter. Sure Jeb might be smarter, but so is most household appliances.
I should not be too shocked by this any way. The more I think about it George and Jeb will not really have to worry about elections come 2008. The Constitution should be outsourced by that time. So it wont matter.
After reading this I wonder if Dan Quayle get down on his knees and thanks god that they found someone even dumber then even he could imagine. But then it probably pisses him off that he realizes that he smarter than George. But that anger subsides quickly because it is time for cartoons.
Taking a look at what Yahoo is offering up.
Well I see Iran sent us a nice little note. I hope someone helped George with the big words.
Wait Rummy likes the nominee for the CIA post, that must mean this guy is a winner. I have the sinking feeling that this guy having the position would be like having Anna Nicole Smith running the Department of Education.
I hope this does not slow down Bill from building that third store. I have enjoyed Big Love, even though I watch and go say "holy crap, Chet has three wives." So now we know the answer to the question Martini Ranch asked in 1988, about "How Can the Labouring Man Find Time for Self-Culture". What is scary, is I can still remember this song being played on KROQ.
I keep seeing the ads for Deadwood. Mmmmmm Deadwood.
David Blane, seriously, couldn't we have let him drown? Come on now, he just a party clown with a better agent. He left the hospital this morning, probably had the last bit of shame removed. If there is any justice, then he will be mauled by Penn and Teller.
Oh, big night on TV. Final questions of 7th Heaven are answered. I just want one answered. How did you stay on the air so long?
Okay, I have a second, why didn't Stephen Collins character just go,
"I have enough. I going to go back to the South Pacific because there are too many "Tales of the Gold Monkey" that have not been told. So sniff you jerks later!"
Gimme that and I would have been in.
Can we just give the Pistons their title now. I just do not see anyone beating them. I hate saying it, but we know it is true.
The Heat - no chance. Shaq is getting close to being the Big Retired.
Nets - You will never win with Bitch Carter (Sorry I have a deep hate of Vince that I have harbored for years from my roto league)
Cavs - You're great LeBron, but I witnessed the Wizards choking. Not you winning. You are couple years away LeBron. You need some more players around you, and Sheed and the Pistons to go ferral.
Out West
Mavs - They have come a long way with Avery Johnson as coach. They know that they are allowed to play D, but they are still soft.
Suns - I love that they are trying to play the NBA of our youths, but they do not have enough of the tall trees to hang.
Spurs - They will give the Pistons fits in the finals because of Duncan, but since he is not 100% the title will be in Motown.
Clips - Its the Clippers. If you all thought that White Sox winning meant the end of the world. If the Clips won, it would be like "crossing the streams".
Barry Bonds is one away from tying Ruth. And I can happily say, "I don't care."
Watching him, I see that he is not getting to 755 on those knees, so enjoy this you douche.
Also I realized that Barry may have already paid for his steroids use. How so Boski? Well I thought back to the 2002 series. A way too yoked up Barry could not bend over to properly field a ball that led to runners being at 2nd and 3rd and no out, instead of 1st and 2nd. And it is at this point Dusty went to the pen and brought in Nen. The rest is history. So Barry you can have all the indivdual records, but realize that your "enhancement of your skills" cost yourself and your teammates (you know the people you alienate all the time) a title. So please go suck it Barry.
Will someone please stop the Ducks and Sharks. As a Kings fan, nothing is more sickening than seeing their success. Well maybe hearing a Red Wings fan crow, which is almost as bad, but not quite. Good to see the Sabers, who I am pulling for for Eric and Slappar, take a 2-0 lead.
Well got to go, it is time for "Breakdancing with Jerry Springer"
Does anyone else see a problem when we are all paying $3 plus at the pumps and no one is getting pissed at NASCAR for holding a "sporting" event that does nothing but waste gas?
Maybe we would get people to take alternative/green fuels seriously if those pricks at NASCAR would take it up. Hey just a thought. Sadly more people listen to what Tony Stewart has to say than their elected officials.
Well I like to tell myself that, but I have been trying to get a lot done and achieving little. So much to talk about. I have been trying to bury my head in the sports pages, because looking at the papers and see how well President Douche is doing is as depressing as being a Marlins season ticket holder.
George, Dick or whoever is charge, thanks for making things even worse. You have started a civil war and allowed the two other members of the Axis of Evil to get stronger and put this country and other in harms way, both militarily and economically. So how is Healthcare and Social Secuirty coming along? (Sound of crickets) Thats what I thougth. Well I do feel better about not having kids. I look at the future and all I can see is that they are so screwed.
So what is your plan George, replace idiots at the White House with other morons. How about trying to actully do your job or outsource it to some one who can.
Man, I definitely need to go kick the ass of my college advisor. I should have inquired about changing my major to failing upwards, because look what it has done for Bush. God wouldn't it be so nice at times to be that dumb, so that nothing ever bothers you.
I think when the elections comes the Dems just need to pull out a Republican Classic. "Are you better off today than you were six years ago?" I think that thanks to the Maddness of King George that it will also work in 2008.
But I have trying to stay in the opium den of Sports, with mixed results.
The Sox continue to kick some ass and take names. Caught then when they came into town. Saw the last two games of their weekend sweep. It is fun, but I think it is getting harder and harder to sit and watch the games. I get all Rain-Man rock back and forth for three hours and I do not get the joy I should being at the stadium. But it is sure as hell better than watching them get clubbed, or blow a big lead. So at this rate, I think I am moving closer to a nice padded room.
The Draft, I have been going all Mel Kiper the last few weeks. I have been pouring through my volumes of draft info. I am still trying to figure out if this was a good or bad draft for the Broncos and the rest of the NFL. I did have a moment where my wife may have thought that marrying me may have been an error. I got into a tizzy when I learned that both ESPN and the NFL Network where covering the draft. To which I whined, "I need a second TV to watch both, I feel I missing something". I am not well.
The Lakers, just when it looks like they have figured it out they soil them selves. They had Game 6 won, and let it slip through. So it back to Phoenix for Game 7, which has a good undercard. I will take Kobe in 10 rounds, but I think the Suns win. Ending the possibility of a Lakers/Clipper matchup. Which is a really telling sign that the world was coming to an end, because the Clips would be favored.
Hockey - Thankfully I was spared the Kings flame out. I am going to put it all on Roenick. You pissed off Slappar and brought us the bad mojo. This team should have been in the playoffs. And maybe even won a round. Since the top four seeds in the West were bounced. Which makes me think that the regular season is not very meaningful. I have tried to watch, but it hurts to not see the Kings and Lucky playing. He did not deserve that, he was Mr. King. Sadly I have to be happy he won a title with Detroit. Oh I hate saying that. Thankfully the Oilers made me feel a little better by beating them. Add that the Ducks are still in just make things worse. Well this just means I have to look to Buffalo to root for since I know two lads who are trying to will them to Lord Stanleys Cup. I am planning to help the cause by trying to find Brett Hull and break that toe that caused the people Buffalo such agony.
Soccer - Well we will live through another year of having to hear Chelsea crow. I thought the Reds would have put up a fight to make a statement, but they didn't. With Rooney getting hurt it looks like this will be another World Cup the English are going to suffer through. The English have turned this into a art. It seems that they are losing players to foot injuries left and right. Right now I like Argentina. I think Brazil can be had if it is forced to play D, but then do you have to play D when you have Ronaldinho.
Thanks for listening, next up the "Rip Taylor Power Hour"
I was working on the last installment when I had to get up and walk away from the keyboard. I need to yap about something else. I promise to get back to it, someday.
